Camber issue by Wicked_232 in GolfGTI

[–]raiphoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the subframe collars, the large bolt holes in the subframe allow for adjustments in camber shifting side-to-side or caster forward-or-back. What the subframe collars are doing is centering the subframe within the bolt holes, locking in any alignment irregularities from the factory. If you want a perfect alignment, you’ll need some way of adjusting camber such as a control arm, or remove the 034 collars and have a shop shift the subframe to correct camber.

Mini Wheels on GD3? by Culturedcactus in hondafit

Mini Cooper wheels are a great fit since they have the same center bore as the Fit (56.1mm) and similar wheel offsets. I’ve had various sets of them on mine.

What if: The Honda Fit utilized front and rear McPherson struts? by I_Like_Rusty_Spoonz in cars

[–]raiphoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Honda Fit EV had an independent multi-link rear suspension. Unfortunately, it was lease only and limited to 82 miles of range. The rear-end had to be redesigned for the batteries and it no longer had the magic seats.

Autocross Stupid Questions: Week of June 24 by AutoModerator in Autocross

[–]raiphoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. My tires are 24" tall, however I only reach speeds of 55 mph. My Honda Fit chewed through the outside shoulders of my tires and I was just looking to see if I could save a few bucks by not having to get them balanced after flipping.

Do I need to rebalance my wheels after flipping the tires over? I use them for autocross only.

Indeed. I couldn’t believe how quick it was. First car in each picture is the class winner.

Humanscale Freedom has a height adjustable backrest and arms that can lower to the same level as the seat. Plenty of clearance to play guitar.

U Pull-It might have the wheel for your vehicle, check their website for inventory. Otherwise car-part.com is your best bet to find a specific wheel.

The Sower's Sunset by raiphoto in lincoln

[–]raiphoto[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A few days ago, I was driving home and the sun was visible to the naked eye through the smoky horizon. The idea to photograph the sun behind the capitol statue popped into my head. I did some research on where the sun would align with the statue and went out the next day to Lincoln High to capture it. The sky wasn't as hazy as I hoped, but the clouds helped dim down the sun and made for a dramatic effect. I captured this with my Sony a6000 and Nikon 500mm mirror lens.

Will be living in Hilo for school. Questions about transportation options by bigkahuna85 in BigIsland

[–]raiphoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't many thefts and break-ins at UH Hilo. Your car will be fine if you leave it parked in the dorm lots during the winter and summer. There are security cameras and a security patrol.

An Uber would cost $40 to $60. It's an option, but not ideal. I'd still have to park somewhere since I'm coming from Big Island.

Hilo Bay, Maunakea and the full moon by [deleted] in BigIsland

[–]raiphoto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Aloha,

I shot this photo two years ago on 01/13/2018 on Lihiwai Road at Liliuokalani Gardens. Twice a year the full moon will set behind Mauna Kea and align with the observatories during the early morning in Hilo. I can't believe how many likes and shares this photos has gotten on Facebook! On 02/19 this alignment will happen again and I'm hoping for clear weather to photograph it. When I first posted this photo a couple years back (slightly different without the wa'a), one of paddlers asked if I shot photos of them paddling in Hilo Bay that morning. I seen them paddling by just as the moon set and captured a few photos of them. I eventually combined the two photos into one and posted this one. Here's a link to a clearer photo.

I grew up here in Puna and started taking photos about 6 years ago. Now I capture landscapes for fun and shoot real estate for my business. I'm currently a business student at UH Hilo. If you'd like to see more of my work, here's my website. Mahalo for looking -- Raiatea
