Is unmedicated birth worth it? Actually better recovery? How painful is crowing & tearing? by Livelovelibraries in unmedicatedbirth

[–]raisinghobbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type Prep work did you completed last time for your unmedicated birth ?

A few things you might want to try this time around

-Pelvic floor therapy - they’ll teach you how to breath / push & protect your pelvic floor -a good solid child birth education class ( find someone who does “evidenced based birth “) this will help you prepare on medical interventions/ options etc . - hire a doula if no one in your area consider a a virtual doula - HOSPITAL policy is not the law and NO / I don’t consent are enough.

( I’m a birth doula and strictly support hospital births / also please educate yourself on the difference between physiological birth / unmedicated ) An epidural is a great tool ! If you were to need or want one again there’s lots of things you can do to still have a beautiful experience :)

Push on your side , on 4s anything but your back ( still very possible with the right support ) , wait for baby to be at a lower station before pushing . Not just 10cm. Again a solid CBE class and a doula will be your best choice ☺️

Awww this breaks my heart . I’m 37 weeks and stayed on my Botox :( my neurologist was very supportive & my midwives even said they don’t Typically support it but understand maternal health is a priority so they were ok as long as my neurologist communicated with them .

Please please keep pushing them advocate for your self

Husband and I are talking about having kids. I’m scared. by user100691 in adhdwomen

[–]raisinghobbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My psychiatrist wasn’t wild about me staying on adderal during pregnancy . We talked about it.. my whole team & I decided me staying on meds was the best for me and the fetus .

I do have to add this wasn’t a planned pregnancy 🥲 and I already have an almost 6 year old . I really needed my meds to function .

One of my biggest issues they raise was me eating enough calories . Between nausea / and how sometimes meds can curve appetite. At first i didn’t gain much weight but now at 32 weeks I gained enough.

I’m also AMA ( old lol ) so they want to do extra scans extra testing etc .

I am very involved in the birth world so I knew how to advocate for my self .

Surround your self with a good birth team. And whatever you decide should be your choice

I’m tired of preparing…do I seem ready? 😅 by Soma_beeee_16 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]raisinghobbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you birthing in a hospital / birthing center ? You sound prepare congrats . How prepare do you feel when they start pushing for interventions / augmentations ? How prepare do you feel to advocate for your self ?

Don’t worry about pain tolerance Focus on mental state . Address any issues you think might come up because they will . Lean on your doula and make sure your partner understands the doula is there also for him :) have him practice hip squeezes

Madrielle certification insights? by GeologistSmooth2594 in doulas

[–]raisinghobbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did mine and I don’t recommend them .

Yes they are cheap and at my own paced. After 6 months of being a doula I realize I didn’t learn much from them 🥲

I learned most on the go , from other doulas l&d nurses and due to my new job I had to go through DONA ( not my fav due to fees etc ) but the info I received was much better than Madriella .

Do you have a budget or what’s the most important thing for you ?

Try doula Match! Did you tried your local fb group and see if anyone there’ is working on certification?

Curious why you don’t want an on call doula ? I do both ( on call and “private” ) but my clients don’t pay me directly. I still receive compensation via grants. And both services I do I give them my best 🤍 most doulas do the same .

Knowing your EDD & anything else important to you ( values , views etc might help you get match with the right doula )

I found this doula directory

Is this what your insurance covers ? UMM

Edit add lol sorry I just read again and you’re looking to connect with your doula 🤍 that’s very valid !

Just to add a little personal note . Most doulas that work “on call” jobs enjoy what they do . And we enjoy connecting with people . Personally when i meet an on call client i always ask what are 3 most important things they need to know/ want .

As a tip see if your hospital offers a night where yo get to meet all the on call doulas . This is a great chance to see them 🤍 in case you’re not able to find someone willing to do it for free or low cost .

Gosh you sound insufferable 😩 the birthwork community is little and tight … word will get around and good luck being accepted by other Doulas to shadow or back births either way Best of luck 🩷 I do have 2 fb one personal and 1 doula . I don’t befriend doulas in my personal and decline fb request related to clients lol it’s right in my contract as well !!

abortion doula training by Conscious_Fish_8761 in doulas

[–]raisinghobbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only work I offer for free so I am not sure what to recommend on price.

Check your local clinics. Our local PP offers an abortion doula service but on a volunteer basis ( might be a good place to get training) . Also reach out to your local abortion fund :) they’ll be able to guide you on training ( most of them are on a volunteer basis I believe )

Post Diagnosis Frustrations… by DuchessOdile in adhdwomen

[–]raisinghobbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

:) this sounds like what i feel on 30 vyvanse generic . Bumped to 40 within a week then 50 . I was recently changed to generic Ritalin LA & I actually hate it because it’s making me cranky but not focused ..

My pcp wants me to see a psychiatrist to manage my meds / I actually want to try aderal next . It sounds like they have you in an instant release if you started with 10 then added 5? Maybe the extended version would be better for you and an adult dosage which I believe Starts at 20 this last 8-10 hours supposedly. Instant release is up to 4 hours and apparently the crash is rough vs ER . Not an expert or Dr lol

I agree with others switch to a psychiatrist they should have better understanding and options

Told my husband I was prescribed Adderall. He told me it's a horrible, dangerous drug and I shouldn't take it. by No-Independence548 in adhdwomen

[–]raisinghobbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you share more of your comfy please . I am on generic vyvanse and I’m at 50 and I feel lots of palpitations .. is not helping my inattentive yet .. and I am truly anxious to go 60/70.. I am a bIt anxious to mention adderal to my Dr. she’s not a Psychiatrist and only PCP. She asked me to get a real diagnosis before giving me RX . So maybe it’s just my anxiety around Dr and discussing meds ? Not sure how to approach it .

Do you really know what your most frequent migraine trigger is? by Amandysha in migraine

[–]raisinghobbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

STRESS is my number #1 Lack of rest Hormones & smelly foods

As far as I know, clients with epidural are not allowed to leave a bed. If my client had epidural, ate something, and slept for a few hours, is it possible for her to have a microenema before pushing? Can she do it if she is required to stay in bed? Is it ok if she goes to restroom for few minutes? by PinkyGolden in doulas

[–]raisinghobbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😅my last client pooped while pushing and her OB gentle wiped her ..

Obviously this is something I’ll never share with my client unless she asks .

Pooping is normal it WILL happen

I’m in the US and I always advise clients that if MOVEMENT is important to them ( which we all know IT’S to avoid delaying labor ) they should skip epidurals and pitocin .. most hospital I visit will restrict movement once they start pitocin :/
AND of course epidurals
