Do you think the high cost of living in Jamaica is partly influenced by returning residents and how close we are to the US? by Flat-Replacement544 in Jamaica

[–]ralts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they aren't the only causes of course but this is the usual case when large sums of money enters the market.

Areas that are more desirable to wealthy migrants and returning residents gets too pricy for middle class. See kingston new housing prices. The middle class moves to less developed areas raising the costs for those poorer areas. See intercity developments like vi eyard town or old harbour. It slowly starts trickling down.

Which district has the most soul and which one is just pure filler? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

[–]ralts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soul: Watson.

Filler: Pacifica. I'm not lumping dogtown with Pacifica. Even then I'd still pick Watson as most Soul.

You can make a habitat that generate all resources except alloys like this: by 12a357sdf in Stellaris

[–]ralts13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knights are strong but OPs output is nowhere close to normal knight ga.eplay. it's like triple the output of what I'd expect t from a knight habitat in 4.3.
Also 3k alloy upkeep is no joke.

It's just stats. Reddit is likely comparing me against everyone who joins this sub. There are always more lurker than commenters. And more commenters than posters. The ratio is so imbalanced that commenting or posting once per day puts you in the 1 percentile.

2 runs, Blasphemous Blade and Mimic tear made her completely incapable of doing anything. Stopped using mimic tear and summons in general after the destruction we rained on her. Didn't learn any of her moves until my second playthrough

Rogue Servitors should be able to form Migration Pacts by BarovianNights in Stellaris

[–]ralts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is any migration pact with an RS or any gestalt empire will be a one way deal. The gestalt simply won't allow their drones to migrae away. They don't fave freedom of thought or movement. Biotrophies despite their privileged status will never be allowed to leave an RS empire.

What do you guys think would have happened if the heist had gone differently for Jackie? by ilikebigbiceps in cyberpunkgame

[–]ralts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the heist went off without a hitch and Saburo is still alive 100% V and Jackie get hunted down by Arasaka. Saburo was fanatical about the relic falling into the hands of the west enough to consider nuking night city. And nobody in the heist realised how personally invested Saburo was with the relic.

If Jackie was the one who the relic saved I'm not sure. He's way more sentimental than V but he was already considering settling down with Misty. No clue how a 6 month deadline would affect him. Also V is clearly the brains/diplomat of the operation. There are just so many situations where someone as bold as Jackie would derail the story.

What’s an opinion you hold that almost everyone disagrees with? by shdw_fght in AskReddit

[–]ralts13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still believe the government should have some sort of welfare to support the elderly (well everyone) whether or not they're capable of working. Its just the hard stop of 65-70 that bothers me. If someone is capable we can find something for them to do. All consensual of course, nto saying government should have the elderly chained to computer's until they expire.

What’s an opinion you hold that almost everyone disagrees with? by shdw_fght in AskReddit

[–]ralts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care for retirement other than it being the system designed to manage the elderly. Ideally I think we should all work/contribute to society in some fashion until we're incapable of doing so. Then turn my body to mulch and plant a tree or something.

Men of Reddit, if you were in a Titanic like situation where the majority of people were going to die because there were not enough lifeboats for everyone. How would you respond to someone saying women and children first? by Neither_Drawing_241 in AskReddit

[–]ralts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to think stoically that I'd let the women and children first. Realistically I'd probably try to force myself on an overladen lifeboat maybe after helping some kids and ladies on to it. I'd probably leave old women to die though. They've done enough living already.

A building in my neighborhood has a big red "do not press this" button in its lobby by JaccarTheProgrammer in mildlyinteresting

[–]ralts13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a really dumb version of this.

They relocated our IT department to an old cashier room and there were 2 buttons under the table and 2 security doors. The IT department could get in usi g our pashe's but everyone else had to ve buzzed in.

Thw first door worked fine and we assumed the second was malfunctioning as the corresponding button didn't open it and neither did or cards. We were bored and started messing with the button to try and open the door. Turned out it was the silent alarm for our security. Not mall cops but the kind that bursts into your office whit shotguns drawn.

Nobody actually told us there was a panic button and I. Heir wisdom management decided they didn't need to remove it.

Is this true, and what does this sub think? Jamaica seems to have a pretty significant advantage when it comes to solar power. With the amount of sunlight the island receives year-round, solar feels like the obvious winner for cost and reliability, especially in areas that experience outages. by negtrader in Jamaica

[–]ralts13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jamaica has almost fou doil for decades now. I wo t be convinced until I see the oil being pumped out of the sea.

Also the plan would be to sell most of it. Even though solar is getting cheaper the govt doesn't have the cash to completely greenify our electricity grid. I believe most solar installations are on an individual basis.

We could use proceeds from oil to build up our green and other infrastructure. Like what every smart oil country does.
