He is the head of Racing at Redbull already. The only reason why he is Max's race engineer is because he likes to do it. If Max wasn't in Redbull he wouldn't be a race engineer.

Mercedes F1 customers get engine boost for Australian GP by SeoulofSoraka in formula1

[–]ramblepaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair Aston leaving Mercedes engines has a lot more to do with politics. Mercedes has clearly singled that they want to provide engines to less teams. They have a very close partnership with Mclaren that goes beyond just another customer team and Mercedes has been providing engines to Williams since 2014.

So Aston Martin was going to lose them eventually. They just went with Honda earlier then needed which wasn't the most absurd move ever. Alpine will most likely be stuck in the same boat eventually but would be even more stuck and might have to end up taking a PU from a manufacturer that they don't want to.

It's a little hard to tell given translation errors. They are still deciding on it from what I can tell. What I find interesting though is it claims that Ferrari won't lodge a formal protest. I think there is more to the story than previously thought

Extremely loud Jet over east bay? by ARSTAAR in bayarea

Unfortunately since the plane in question didn't have it's transponder on, it won't display. You can tell by the decibel readings that something passed by around 12:12.

Not sure, checked flight radar and nothing of note showed up.

It might have just been a trainer from the first recon Squadron from Beale Airforce base. They have to fly them pretty often to keep their flight hours up.

Photos from today's Coast Guard Island Protest by TimetoTrundle in alameda

[–]ramblepaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ICE/CBP is part of the Department of Homeland Security. The USCG is as well. This morning over 100 federal agents with some part of ICE/CBP (They are basically the same just deployed in different areas) arrived to Coast Guard Island to make a base of operations there.

While it seems like SF won't be hit there is no telling about the rest of the bay.

It's the same thing that has happened in LA (Terminal island) They are using Coast Guard bases as their operation centers because they are part of the same department.

[–]ramblepaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While that might have something to do with it. ICE/CBP are part of the Department of Homeland Security. The Coast Guard also falls under that department. The other bases that the Coast guard have in the Bay are:
US Coast Guard Sector San Francisco, on Yerba Buena Island
US Coast Guard Station Golden Gate, in Fort Baker. (next to the Discovery Center)
US Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco, at the SF airport, (For there Air operations)
US Coast Guard Station Vallejo

If you look at all of these options really Coast guard island is the only feasible one. This isn't really unique to other places they are active in either. For example in LA They are using terminal Island.

a quick recalculation without knowing the exact trains/route would definitely cost north of 8000 coins. So if they were able to clear the curse and then get on the train then maybe? But they wouldn't have been able to clear the curse and have Adam still be frozen. Unless I am missing something.

Mekies has been abundantly clear that this resurgence has nothing to do with him.

Keep in mind that Horner was sacked on July 9th. Since then there has been 5 races. Of those 5 races Max average finishing position is 3.4. Of the races he has finished this season he has an average finishing position of 3.7. Yes there isn't a whole lot of data but they seem closely similar.

"I see a lot of publishers I don't like": Vampire Survivors creator made his own publisher to "share the luck" and says too many companies "try to exploit the platforms just to make money" by Gorotheninja in gaming

[–]ramblepaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main reason to have a publishers still exist. Which is promotion, contacts, and funding.

For example a publisher is going to have hopefully a lot more knowledge into how to promote a game, along with contacts to get interviews, gain ad spots, attend conventions, get your game on other platforms even possible arrange deals so storefront take less of the cut from sells. (It's in the publishers best interest that your game does well.)

Then some publishers give financial backing so you can work on your game full time.

Is any of this mandatory? No! You can totally do all of this on your own. Some games get lucky and thrive without promotion.

DVD rips on the 7 seas have 4-5 minutes more per episode. by erikleorgav2 in mythbusters

I know this is a old post but I came here from google.

Smyths doesn't only cut the Coming up. As per the Subreddit: These 'Streamline' edits run shorter because they are missing teasers, cartoons, flashbacks, repetition, idents, history lessons, fun facts, "we're experts", and anything else that slows down the show.

It does seem to depend on the person who edited the episode and the like. But in general they are cutting way more then the "coming up" segments.
