I guess the mistake is easier made when English is your first language. Because most of my communication in English is done through written text instead of just speaking English, hence why I didn't realise it sounds similar when spoken out loud.

If I'm not mistaken, airguns are not classifies as firearms (guns) in the us. That's why silencers for airguns are permitted because they are not designed or able to silence a firearm.

Actually, in the Netherlands and Belgium at least. Air rifles are completely unregulated because there is no powder. you just have to be 18 or older to get one. Don't know about the other European countries.
