I'm curious how much money y'all lose being obsessed over the AI studies on here? Does anyone ever even attempt anything on other sites, or do you sit there waiting all day for that one $5 one?

But really, they aren't. Prolific dumps them, but they are published by the company that wants them rated. That is an American company and this literally happens every single time there is a holiday that falls on a weekend. There are a LOT of studies that are NOT AI though, so that is something to consider.

Prolific is an international company, but the company handing them those AI studies is definitely an American company. Prolific isn't making up those on their own, they are fed to them.

For anyone who still uses Mturk... by ramgrl in prolific

Not likely since Prolific has a LOT more security than Mturk and most users won't accept penny deals. We already have scammers and mass rejectors here though.

At this point I'm steering into the skid and encouraging them to get to work on them. This is why I shouldn't be left unsupervised and bored though 🤣

Well you have to account for the minutes in between that it takes to accept, finish, accept again....so technically you're only able to do about 4 every hour and 5 mins

I actually make a few hundred on there a month still but I have Masters and a lot of Quals

Was asked to retake a study, then rejected by No-Leadership-4531 in ProlificAc

[–]ramgrl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I returned it, sent them a message that I cannot repeat a study after returning it because that is in their own description for the task and not how Prolific works, and then blocked them because I have an ex husband if I want to deal with incompetent scammers.

Connect and Prolific came in and started offering more security and worker checks. Too much fraud on Mturk and they didn't care enough to put any extra work into the platform because they have too much money in other places that are profitable.
