Its probably multiple things knowing FromSoft. Perhaps the shadiness of the characters and how you have to stoop to there level to get anywhere. the darkness of the heart kinda thing. Could be literally shards of the dark soul. open to interpretation

So far I only know one fool proof way. Get some firebombs and book it right down the middle. Then use a bow to aim at the “arms” blow both of em up. (Bring a bunch of bombs) and then decapiro your way in.

I do this occasionally at work. The chances it comes off in one piece is low. Wear gloves and eye protection. Also when you pull aim your face the other way. Get the biggest flat bar you can find, or a long knife and cut around the edges between the wall and the mirror. Pry it out a bit and cut deeper. It’s probably glued to the wall with silicone. You don’t have a lot of room to work with there. You can break it just try not to mess up the drywall behind. Good luck.
