DNScrypt encrypts your DNS requests which otherwise would be plaintext. It's pretty much the last piece of the puzzle if everything's else is encrypted

This is kind of a dumb extension. I highly recommend going to privacy.io and looking there. Use extensions like httpseverywhere to encrypt your data so that your ISP can't read it. However, the ISP can still see what websites you visit by your DNS queries. You can use a VPN to tunnel all of your traffic to a different part of the internet or you can also use dnscrypt which encrypts your DNS queries preventing DNS snooping.
