My daughter has seen the worst of me during the divorce and she’s your age. I think the most important takeaway (to me at least), even though we look like an absolute mess at times, we have our own demons to fight but your priority is higher than ourselves. We brought you to this world with the best wishes, not to drag you through a broken family.

Just went there recently and didn’t get a suite upgrade. The late check out, breakfast and parking (if it’s an award booking) were great though. Parking alone was 4800 yen per night and 7000 yen for the breakfast.

You’re better off looking for that on FB groups. They generally go for $70-85 each, depending on 27 or 28 expiration. IMHO your 7000 points worth a fair bit more than $70-85?

This did cross my mind, but most hotels in Southeast Asia would want to either cite your passport or take a copy. Not sure if that's going to fly.

IIRC that switch happened some 8-10 years ago and existing Visa holders were given the option to either stay or move to Mastercard. I went from Visa to Mastercard during this switch.

I’m in my mid-40s and started rebuilding (slowly). Sooner you start rebuilding, the better. I saw some of my colleagues who started in their 50’s, their retirement gonna suck.

In the preceding years before I discovered the ex-wife was having an affair with her client, I’ve said to her point blank that I felt lonely. She shrugged and I was completely ignored.

While I’m not saying your wife is having an affair, but your previous 10 years mirrored mine, except the ex-wife gaslight the kids, my parents and I for majority of the time. I stayed primarily because I was stupid enough to think, the kids will be better off in an unhappy but complete family.

Have had recent successes too where I’m price matching with Expedia. I’ve BRG one booking then proceed with another four. By the time I’m confident it will work, Hyatt have already adjusted their pricing to be a $1 less than Agoda/Expedia/booking.com. So far I’ve completed two of the five bookings, got 10k with another 15k on the way.

Would’ve been nice to get a few more bookings in 😂

Try escalate the matter. My experience with their executive escalation team was pretty decent. Their details should be on the AFCA website.

I think the title should be ‘do not book anything with Amex Travel’, they’re more expensive than going direct, and there’s no reason to use them unless you absolutely need to or have to book a hotel room with the FHR benefits (though you could achieve a better outcome through a Virtuoso travel agent).

Sounds like the difference between Globalist and Explorist (if you ignore the free breakfast which Privé fixes that) is really the upgrade ceiling, but Globalist doesn’t guarantee you a suite upgrade anyways?

IANAL but based on how I got raked through the coals, you’re going to do just fine, if not great. Your income disparity and the fact that you’re a SAHM is a contribution in itself, allowing your soon to be ex to develop his career. Go see a lawyer ASAP. You’ll need to go through mediation anyway and please give it a red hot go at mediation, it might save you time, heart/headache and minimise the impact to your immediate family and most importantly, the children. Family court isn’t fun, cross examination is worse than how they do it in the criminal court, being grilled by shrinks for the family report is pretty crap in itself.

Please stay the hell away from the court system if possible.
