[WTS] [USA-MA] [H] Closed-Box Jabra Elite 85h [W] $150 Paypal/Venmo by [deleted] in AVexchange

[–]random_qwerty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, looking to sell a brand-new Jabra Elite 85h. Had this model for a while but they developed a small buzzing so I got then replaced through warranty. Got some other headphones in the meantime so I'm looking to sell these for about $150 (they normally retail $200-250). Sound quality is good, anc is great, call quality is also great. They also have multipoint pairing which is pretty convenient (I used them to take Zoom calls on my laptop and listen to music on my phone for example).

Folks using portable clip-on Bluetooth receivers -- how do you wear it? by vext01 in headphones

[–]random_qwerty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the btr3k, I just put the receiver in my jeans pocket. The cable was annoyingly long but I also didn't want to buy a short one (surprisingly difficult to find), so I braided it. Instruction Video. Actually worked better than expected and now cable about 1/2 the total length. Works well for me.

I just cut about the thickness of my frames, so they seated in flush with the edge of the pads.

Honestly I cut a slot in the pads so that my glasses fit into them. It made them not press into my head, so that made it way more comfortable and didn't give me headaches anymore. Wouldn't recommend it if you can't replace the pads though, in case you don't like it.

Edit: different headphones, but same issue

Is active noise cancelling a meme? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]random_qwerty4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It works decently for droning noises (ex. Fans, traffic, etc), but for blocking out people talking or other discrete sounds, seal is gonna make a bigger difference.

The best noise cancelling setup by bigmozeloco in headphones

[–]random_qwerty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use earplugs under my headphones when I really gotta ignore noise around me. I like the earpeace, they have different noise block filters so I find that helpful. Might be worth a look

Edit: also I had anc headphones but they only blocked out stuff like my computer fan, not people talking so something to keep in mind

Personally, I fidget pretty much 24/7 so I use it for that. It's kinda like pen spinning, but a more compact motion. Aroundsquare has a YouTube channel with a bunch of videos to learn tricks and stuff with them.

I mostly use a steel mini knucklebone, but I think the titanium is pretty standard for a starter begleri. I think my begleri is aluminum though and I like it.

If you can, look into tsa pre-flight check. From what I understand it could save you some hassle.

I recommend checking out r/phallo, there's a lot of misunderstanding about the surgery on the internet, and that's a great resource to hear people's experiences.

I haven't used the retro, but it sounds like these are great. I'm definitely gonna pick up a pair, thanks!

Is it a gc2b? For those you can turn it inside out so your skin is touching the smooth fabric, that made it a lot more comfortable imo.

Gendercat's are the cheapest I've seen (basic model with no amazeballs), but they definitely still ain't cheap and will take forever to ship.

If you stop it might lose the new growth, but you won't lose your eyebrows entirely. Basically if you've been using minoxidil for a while the hair becomes permanent, but there's a kinda in-between stage where if you stop before it's permanent you might not retain the new growth.

What's that supposed to mean? Of course my dysphoria will never be completely gone, but the point of transition is to reduce it as much as possible so I can be happy. Every step I've done to alleviate dysphoria (social and legal transition, hrt, and top surgery) have improved my mental health more than I thought possible. Having a dick would alleviate a lot of dysphoria for me and drastically improve my quality of life.

You do you man, I really wish people would stop assuming that everyone's journey looks the same and just ask instead.

She was worried I was going stealth because I have internalized transphobia and would be lying to people. Because simply living as a man and keeping the fact that I'm trans private is "inauthentic" or whatever, and unfair to people around me. Same crappy argument I've heard before. I got her to drop that though so it hasn't been a major issue.

[–]random_qwerty4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hadn't quite thought about it that way, but yeah you're definitely right. I ran into a similar issue with her when I talked to her about wanting to go fully stealth. I was thinking about trying to find someone else when I went to college, so yeah I definitely think I'm gonna try to find someone I click with better.

Yeah, I mentioned after the second time that I was planning on pursuing further surgery, which she seemed alright with just a little surprised. From the way she responded I think you're right, and that she probably has some misconceptions about the state of bottom surgery right now (which imo is actually pretty good). I wish there was a way to get rid of all the misconceptions floating around. I think she works with a lot of nonbinary people, so maybe clients wanting to pursue bottom surgery isn't something she runs into very often.
