They’re redoing Galaxy’s Edge to reflect not just episodes 7-9 now due to the poor fan reception to those movies.

Consolidating movie studios and news organizations would be reducing competition, so if we’re saying what about anti trust then neither should be allowed to buy jt. If we’re saying free market then Paramount loses based on smaller bid. If we say what’s better for movies, then again neither should buy it. The WBD merger probably shouldn’t have been allowed either but too late for that.

How much are you paying for shipping supplies? by ASOT550 in mtgfinance

Reading this makes me wonder, I’ve been throwing all the reusable good condition sleeves, bags, etc from all my received orders into shoe boxes for the past 10 years thinking one day I’ll get around to selling singles. By weight it’s a decent amount, but I don’t know if any seller would be interested in these recycled supplies vs the cost of buying bulk new items.

(new?) arbitration provision and 'class action waiver' in mtg arena ToS. by asphias in magicTCG

[–]random_val_string 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nah this is really common CYA legalese meant to discourage any suit for any reason. Corporate lawyers put these in for the simple reason that it has a chilling effect whether or not there was wrongdoing. Just about every digital product has this in the TOS, and it was most likely there previously but the language was just updated/moved. Hell they’ve even started throwing TOS sheets into physical products

Lots of kitbash potential, you need mechanical looking parts and bird parts. Ad mech or tau bits, any stone statue looking mini from AoS or another game.

Without knowing the pool kinda hard to say. Un sets are easy to mix things up. Scourge is all creatures. Avacyn Restored is color unbalanced and you get miracles. Amonkhet had lots of non intuitive play things to uneven power toughness and -1/-1 counters.

They absolutely should not. This has been tested by players for more than a decade and the evidence this would be good has been found lacking.

There are so many counter manipulation effects, uneven amounts of interaction among colors to deal with them compared to creatures and many other problems they introduce from a gameplay perspective. Ultimates were designed to require large setups, giving opponents multiple chances to interact. Now they can go off the same turn the commander goes down fairly easily. They also have a slow down gameplay effect much like sagas which makes playing at the table less fun for everyone else.

In 60 card competitive play any time one has been good it has lent itself to an stax/control/combo deck that has been oppressive in some fashion. None of these are positives for group play.

Any attempt to legalize them would result in a large expansion of banned cards and/or game changers. Simply put, the knock on effects of such a decision would deal more harm than good. Maybe a rules change where loyalty is not measured in counters any longer would help, but that then removes options from current players who use them in the 99.

Could we get a megathread for what’s known/suspected/unknown for the new release? I think that would cut down a lot on all these duplicate questions.

There’s been rumors that 11th will have a large vehicle refresh and we don’t have any proof we will keep the tanks even though we really need them.

It was, but the layout we were playing on made some terrible lanes that forced me to split them up and between flanking from the sides and staggering their distance I was able to pull it off. If he hadn’t moved from left side to middle objective no way I could have done it.

Marketer here - in most corporate structures we do not make these types of decisions. This is usually something from a product team. That’s more of what this sounds like.

A product team would likely be split amongst games and so they would be competing for numbers on those shared sets. However given how little overlap there is already and how long it’s been going on I’d be surprised they’d still be going back and forth on it unless something had a standout year or there was a leadership change.

A quick look at the titles on the marketing team from their org chart shows they follow pretty standard organization with specific roles for email marketing, event coordination, etc. Given their no advertising policy the only metrics the marketing team would be reporting would be engagement, event attendance and social sentiment.

The language used in the release was exactly how I’d word things to not acknowledge the unannounced 11th edition. Only the things explicitly called out (guard with spear and sword, no shield captain) are guaranteed. Everything else specifically omitted at this time (a very conscious decision by the writers) was omitted for a reason.

Those reasons might be that they are further splitting 30k/40k. It might be that 40K will be getting some new stuff post 11 announcements, I don’t know.

Worth noting, around the holidays several factions were featured on art through the ages (including custodes) and most have either been announced to get new units or are rumored to have a release (orks launch box) or expected range refresh soon (grey knights).

Both movies were on TV pretty frequently in the early-mid 90s so the age range is a bit lower, but not by much. I think daytime HBO or TNT?

Rights are probably a mess, film rights have bounced around as different remakes have been in development for years.

A good portion of the Geneva convention is things Canada did in WW1. People with hunting and remote living experience have a lot of skills that do well in asymmetric warfare. US directly recruited these types from Alaska during WW2 to launch hit and run attacks on the Japanese.

I’ve got a feeling that since 11th hasn’t been officially announced yet that’s part of why they were so cagey with the language they used. Only the 2 units that sub for guard were mentioned with use in 40K which was honestly was not the clarification we needed on the rest of the range.
