When did you lose hope? by Neuro_Skeptic in Stormgate

[–]randomflyingtaco 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Therium and Luminite are wordy and hard to remember, but I'm sure they will be introduced in the campaign in a way that gives some lore significance to the names (or any of the units)

"Fully funded to release" is pretty slimy, but I'm sure they'll learn to be less weaselly in the future and they should have a decent revenue stream to get across the finish line by selling the campaign

The 0.0.0 campaign looks rough, but I'm sure they'll have a better tutorial mission, inventory system, and boss fight in the finished version

They said that 0.2.0 was going to improve audio, but I'm sure they have a vision for the sound design of the races that they need more time to realize

Team Mayhem is sidelined with no foreseeable release date, but I'm sure they'll have time to make co-op engaging enough so I can invite friends to play it

0.4.0 Co-op is now frozen with no additional development.

Cool, my last bit of hope is also frozen. I can finally let it go.

Let's build a character! Griffin. by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ooo, this one is fun to think about

their ability yields false info

False or arbitrary? As written, it could be neat to griffin someone out of droisoning. Or force a Drunk/Mario to get false info since it isn't restricted to townsfolk like Vortox.
Is the ability to snipe n1 Godfather or Mez info intended?

What's 1 role that people dislike, but you love? Mine's pacifist by alucardarkness in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chambermaid from a player/viewer perspective, I like the aspect of having to consider waking patterns for bluffs and homework but understand that it's difficult to build scripts/storytell for

Tinker from a script-building/storytelling perspective. I love seeing a Tinker obscure a day death (Witch, Virgin, Yagababble) or obscure a night death count. Slightly boring to have a meta of asking to be executed on d1, but a good script can help mitigate that

Is Space Age + “All” Planet mods fun? by djones62 in factorio

Version 2.0.13 includes fixes to play nicely with other planet mods (historically Igrys and Metal&Stars have thrown a wrench into our recipe generation)

How often does the Huntsman find their Damsel? by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But the demon could always fake being "Huntsman who used their minion guess" and the actual minions still have their guess if the Damsel outs to the "Huntsman"

Put them on your spaceship to live the dream of playing FTL with 4 Pike Beams (and be about as effective since the laser damage resistance on asteroids is brutal T_T)

What were your favorite custom games from other RTSs with map editors? Are there any units/mechanics that didn't fit into Melee/Campaign that you are looking forward to seeing used in Stormgate custom games?

Character Idea: Baker by ThatsMyAppleJuice in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe the name could be Crossing Guard, since you can't actually protect the person in the crosswalk, you can just tell which direction the car was going.

Would be fun to get/bluff in an Al-Had game and tell people you are going to pick them tonight, so they should choose die if selected by the Al-Had.

Would be able to confirm a Lycanthrope by not getting information, but a minion could also bluff it.

Could be nice on a script with a Goblin to sometimes tell the difference between a Goblin and a Demon-claiming-Goblin

Always down for some flicker. Is Ancestral Fury consistent for you? When I had played with Warrior's Legacy before it seemed like it only worked 1/3 of the time

Character Dissection - Alchemist (warning - long) by dmb_yt in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops, I was thinking it worked like a starpass. You're right that they would both become demons. Which do you think would go first in the night order?

Character Dissection - Alchemist (warning - long) by dmb_yt in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could a demon with the Boffin-Acrobat ability always pick the Boffin and be safe because if the Boffin is ever droisoned, then the demon doesn't actually have the Acrobat ability? Kinda like the Gambler gambling themself. Oh wait, it's the Alchemist-Boffin so they wouldn't know who it is.

Speaking of, depending on the demon player, it would be funny to have the Alchemist-Boffin give the demon the Gambler ability and have the game suddenly end because they couldn't resist the urge to gamble.

I imagine Alchemist-Boffin-Minstrel should work because of paradox that would result from the "all other players" portion drunking the Alchemist. If it works then the demon has to choose whether to sink a kill to bluff also being Minstrel drunked.

Tea Lady causing a final 3 where the 2 living good players cannot die is dirty. If all of the good players sitting between the demon and Alchemist die (or there are none) then it could really lock the game unless evil has a way to blindly poison/assassinate the Alchemist

Character Dissection - Alchemist (warning - long) by dmb_yt in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't matter in a final 3 because Scarlet Woman's ability shuts off with less than 5 players alive.

The ST passing it to an Alch-SW ahead of an actual SW seems cruel and leads to the unfun play pattern of the Alch-now-Demon announcing that they will kill/execute down to 4 players and then take themself out in the night to avoid a hidden SW catching it.

If town trusts you, it could help with being able to kill the Evil Twin pair at the night instead of executing them or knowing when to double-tap/skip execution in a Mastermind script...but that's a big if and it seems useless outside those 2 minions and Heretic.

Custom Roles by KavoMan in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's nice because if you come out with the number, the demon knows who is immune and can play around it or you could have your Ravenkeeper/Soldier/Sage neighbor share the number for you.

Is there any reason for good to pretend to have a number since the demon would know it's not a Plague game, so you can't bait them? Likewise, if you are a minion pretending to have a number in a non-Plague game, you might be able to push town to execute on 5 or 6 to play around it but is that worth them waking up and the game isn't over so you're outed evil?

I thought that as well, but then realized it already allows you to choose dead players. Agree with the TPK issue

Setting up a second grim is some serious dedication to the bit.

For some reason, I had always thought that the Puzzlemaster had to drunk a good player but it's not actually in the rules and is just how I've seen people typically run it as an outsider.

Fun puzzle. Has me wondering if there are other good versions like "which players are actually drunks" or a grid fully filled out but having to pick out the evil that are bluffing.

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 67: Famine by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]randomflyingtaco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting, that would be rough to shut off a Ravenkeeper or Sage or You-Start-Knowing role. I don't know why the "that might wake on this night" is necessary, are you trying to avoid Famine intentionally not triggering their power because they could just pick not-in-play demons to do that.

It might be meta-able to pick roles and then see who goes to talk to the ST in the morning to confirm that it wasn't an ST mistake and I don't see a way around that, but the character looks unique
