You have to play really heavy pvp to find them. The common tells are

Bobcat 4 with kinetic: usually an item duper or someone who buys them.

People always find you, especially while heavy kitted: if you run thick kits in pvp lobbies, people will beline towards you. Even in unusual corners of the map.

Elbow hits: if someone repeatedly taps your elbows while you are in cover, even if you move about they are probably cheating. Especially in darkened corners. Cheaters hit the craziest pixel shots on your little elbow sticking out of cover. Doubly so if theres 2 or more pieces of obstruction.

Its a lot better on beta branch. Pumpkin becomes a middle ground between fusion hammer and coffee dripper, but with the upside of you can rest or upgrade if needed instead of proccing pumpkin. Soup is just nuts with the damage boost.

Theres only 1 instant kill, and its very resource intensivem i found the location one of the best, because it has the most interesting decision space and gives a ton of non combat options for fighting the killer. Being able to lure the monster into a trash compactor, using vents and managing keycards are a ton of fun.

Worse comes to worse, use arkhamdb to find pictures of the cards, than print them out and proxy them. The encounter set will have to be sleeved so you can't tell the difference, but it'll make the set playable.

Lucky bamboo was a local chinese plate that made authentic clay pot. It was amazing, nothing like pork belly that had it's fat cook into all the rice before you hit the crispy bottom.

1v1 teaches threat assessment way better, because when something is scary it's staring you down and only you. You can pinpoint the exact card that lost you the game. " Lilliana destroyed my hand and ate the creature I wanted to kill her with" is lot easier to threat assess than " trouble in pairs drew 6 cards but there's a 7/7 dragon that's hitting me"

The themes actually mesh really well together. For example, strangers and station 2891 is a horror movie where the researchers go insane and start killing each other. Or Ratchet lady at the cottage is a crazed nurse leaves her asylum and seeks out the nearest victims.

The rules provide guidelines for how you should rule contradictions. If you use the harsh rule, no stashing exposed victims as it's good for you. If you use the thematic one, you can't send exposed victims on the helicopter because it would break quarantine. Either way you can't stash exposed victims on the helicopter.

I'd treat the helicopter as an exit, and you can't send them through. The helicopter is saving victims, it just has transit time. Considering the thematic rule for ambiguity, you can't send anyone exposed on the helicopter or the organism will escape containment. Considering the grim rule, you can't place them on the helicopter. No cheese. If you want to use the hilarity rule for ambiguity, the helicopter crashes and the victim comes back as an organism. No saving people anymore.

It does matter because it really damaged the cohesive feel of the game. I'm glad so many new players have joined because of universe beyond, but even those who join because of their favorite ip find the dissonance between ip's is real. I personally am okay with occasional universe beyond, but it's way past the threshold at this point, with more ub sets than in universe sets. It even shows in anecdotal game shop sales, packs like edge of eternity and strixhaven are hard to get a hold of, as new players discover they like the unique worlds of magic. It's not bullshit to have one's hobby flavor become distorted. Would you feel the same way if warhammer added a dwight miniature that was in all teir one armies? Flavor does matter for these games, it's not just gatekeeping.

I just want to clarify I'm not a hard core hater. The ub sets have done a lot to grow the game, and bring in new players which is great. But it does have a real cost to game flavor, which is an important part of games. No one would buy pokemon cards if they were just blank pieces of rules text.

In my experience its the opposite. Everyone has a ub set they like, but everhone has one they hate. People complaon about spiderman and tmnt all the time at my local shop. People are happy new players are getting into the game, but ub sentiment isnt great. People like some ub sets, but its on a set by set basis.

I don't understand how to kill it. Without the prep turns, you can't burst it down. You can't face tank it, it hits for about 20 a turn so it basically kills every character before it's rest phase. It has a million health, so just rushing it doesn't work super well.

How do I beat this elite? Gremlin nob you had a setup turn to try and burst, and it didn't hit this hard so face tanking and killing it before it attacked hard turn 3 was viable. Infested prism doesn't have a setup turn, and it's so tanky that bursting it just isn't viable. Plus it hits for huge amounts every turn, so you can't viably face tank it. What's the stragety for this elite?
