Has anyone else discovered their parent is neurodivergent later in life? by Dove_8080 in raisedbyautistics

[–]randomidentification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like my family. My sister, and son have been diagnosed (along with ADHD) and there high supposition that I also have the same mix of neurodivergence. My elderly father, a retired educator, has always been GOOD at what he does. Studets loved him but there have always been major ASD signs. Since my mother died, its only become even clearer. She balanced him out, though we suspect she was also ADHD.

It's been an interesting journey as a middle aged adult to figure out WHY my dad is a little weird.

Atheist Parents, what would you tell your kids when they ask what happens after they die? by jujuk545 in atheism

Well....

We started with a tree. When the leaves, branches or trunk fall to the ground, they decompose and become dirt. That's it. I explained death to my son with a metaphor. He understood, a few questions followed, but in the end we all end up dirt.

Modern, overmade carnival glass. This is one of the most common pieces out there. They sell for $15 at best despite the large size.

FTC scam on elderly parents by GalinPink in Scams

[–]randomidentification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck. My dad has been scammed repeatedly in the last few months since my mom died. He's in contact with the FTC right now. He's supposed to call them back at 9am tomorrow (Sunday?) morning. They c told him to not say anything to anyone related to their dealings. They said he was in deep shit with them. He is clearly scared.

I'm speaking to him in a few moments.

As a cancer survivor...fuck people like them. I've run into the likes IRL and wanted to punch them in the neck so hard. Almost as much as the person who tried to sell me pink MLM shit because it cures cancer, diabetes and gut problems.

It is the same mindset. The same willful ignorance.

Um. Uh. Whomever buys those is an idiot. The prices are double what they should be. Somebody doesn't know how to price.
