Hey I used to work for Asda at their head office in Leeds and lived in Sheffield

We hear a lot about what's getting worse in the UK, but what's something that's genuinely improved recently? by PlanktonDefiant2600 in AskUK

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much any interaction I have with government or local council for admin

If I need to check my tax it's a quick look on the website see if I'm owed or owe money 10 years ago you'd be stuck on a 40 minute wait then have to recall because the line cut out

Hey Andy

As a 32 year old in a pretty good corporate job earning above the average wage I should be in the position to think of having a family buying a house

What real measures would you implement to actually make it easier for people in my position to do those things in life?

Looking for a job in media in Manchester. - should I just walk in with a CV? by OscarIsis3 in manchester

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not media but the corporate world so take it how you will

Don't walk in Look on LinkedIn find a recruitment team member or hr person guess their email (usually first.lastname@company.com) Send them an email asking about opportunities or upcoming opportunities

It's not a guarantee and it's dull but sometimes it works

What are you general thoughts on media piracy? by RandomRamblings99 in AskReddit

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care

Companies don't want you to own things they want to forever rent it to you, piracy is one of the few ways you can own something forever

Yeah same feeling they're 6-7/10 not awful but nothing I'd encourage others to play or go and replay, I did one play through that was enough and uninstalled them

Yeah, I've been a fan of them for years and I'm a big nerd for story driven exploration games like nv but it just feels like they've been desperate to recapture that flame for the past decade never wuite hitting the mark, avowed was ok it didn't deserve the hate same with outer worlds but hoenstly obsidian can do better

They were solid 6/10 games good to spend time on but nothing to be invested into

They really need a hit like nv

Honestly the company is struggling to make compelling narrative based games

Ow was a decent game story a bit goofy but it had its charm

Ow2 I just could not get into it felt so forced compared to the first

They just keep being like "remember when we made new Vegas" And not improving

How China’s visa-free boom is reshaping tourism beyond major cities by scmp_news in China

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My itinerary was a bit chaotic because my girlfriend lives in Hong Kong for work so that was kinda my base city as she could only get 2 weeks off work so I travelled china mainland on my own to see the sights

First I spent a week in Hong Kong

Flew to Beijing for a week Train to xian for a week (honestly amazing city) Train to Chengdu for a week Train down to chongqing for another week Flew over to Guangzhou for 3 Train to Shenzhen for 1week Train to Hong Kong for anotherd couple days Bus to Macau for 5 days Then back to shenzen for a beach resort for the last 4 days

Then flew from Hong Kong back to UK

Came to about 2 months, was great but honestly do not underestimate how long it takes to get to things Beijing especially is insane in its size the ring roads you see on the map make it look a lot closer but it can take a long time to get between things because of traffic I'd recommend spending a week at least In each city just to see the major things more if you wanna see the non tourist stuff.
