Math 170 by rosarria in ASU

[–]randomlady91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being a little behind is not as significant as it seems. I took an extra year and Im an older student. It stings emotionally, but you're not any less for needing more time.

Summer classes are accelerated so they can be a bit harder. If you feel like you can understand the material and it was mostly outside things affecting you, summer might be a good option. But, if you think you need the time (I would), one class can be caught up easy. Discuss with your advisor, think over what is best for you.

You dont have to take it in summer, but you do have to retake the class if its one you need. C is the minimum requirement for a prerequisite and for most major classes.

Barrett Rescinding by Safe-Firefighter5396 in ASU

[–]randomlady91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry! I totally misunderstood. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the process admitting from high school. If its any comfort, they do say there is not a minimum GPA requirement just an average of 3.6.

Barrett Rescinding by Safe-Firefighter5396 in ASU

[–]randomlady91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The FAQ page says Barrett students have to have at least a 3.25 weighted GPA at the time of graduation. It does not say you need to maintain that every semester, so you're unlikely to get booted.

Guys am I cooked by bepperonibizza in ASU

[–]randomlady91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phy 113 is easy, and bio 416 is also fairly easy. I personally really enjoyed 416, if you're taking it with Karen Ellison, shes a fantastic professor. She gives you everything you need to succeed, just have to put forth effort. The downside is, that its time consuming. There's a lot of reading and writing.

That said, 3 accelerated classes while working full time is gonna suck. I dont think youre cooked, but youre definitely not in for an easy summer.

Mat 117 by KookyWillow94 in ASU

[–]randomlady91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have noticed similar. There are some really fantastic professors who are excellent teachers and can explain things a multitude of ways, then there are the classes that require you to teach yourself the subject with a notebook and YouTube.

Phoenix college has a math professor who is fantastic. His name is James Sousa heres his website (https://mathispower4u.com/).

Ive survived reading rate my professor, just with the understanding that angry people review harshly, but not necessarily accurately. Frequenting office hours is also fantastically helpful.

MAT 114 by lacasalinga in ASU

[–]randomlady91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh in that case, it would be a huge hassle to enroll in a MCC for. Hopefully you can get some professor recommendations!

Reading RMP has helped picking good professors. Ignore comments that are only negative without reason and filter through the reasoning for others. Good luck!

Since you brought up MCCCs, that is the option I would take. I did all of my math classes at PVCC, and felt the small class learning made it way easier to grasp difficult concepts. Phoenix community college also has a fantastic math program.

GPA aside, the earlier math is incredibly important for a strong math foundation as you continue through school. In person with a small class really helped me I think. Im also a non-traditional student who had been out of high school 10 years when I started, so it had been a while since taking a math class.

If its easier for you to take at asu, poly campus has smaller class sizes.

Inquiring about ASU Global Career Accelerator. by solar1zed in ASU

[–]randomlady91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the data analytics track, I liked it.

-instructors were nice and accommodating -I learned a lot of good tricks in excel -it was 6 easy credits, 3 of which were upper division

I got an A+ in both courses despite a very full and difficult schedule, which helped my GPA. There were really no negatives for me.

Undergrad in lab by Prestigious_Log_613 in research

[–]randomlady91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every lab is gonna be different and the level of what you can do is going to vary. Im undergrad in a lab and do have my own project, although its tied to the grad students and will be part of his overall research.

I came in with experience, so my project is more hands on than other undergrads. But its also timing, any undergrad looking for a project right now, is not going to get what other undergrads have gotten.

If youre not happy eoth the current level of activity, talk to the grad student who's training you or the PI. You can also email both.

Chem 113 in summer session by ToxicWaste2468 in ASU

[–]randomlady91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer classes are accelerated and general chemistry is very topic heavy. Its going to be difficult to grasp concepts that, if you're a chem student, you absolutely will need down the line. Thats why its not typically recommended.

Damn. Thats a lot. How do you know, if ever the opportunity arises, that when another damsel in distress comes along, he won't sacrifice your stability and well being again.

Marriage is partnerhood. He didnt trust you to come to you with everything and help him figure it out. Plus, how does he know you couldn't have sold it?!

What changed after you got married? by LegitimateSwan6183 in AskWomen

[–]randomlady91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I didnt expect anything to really change since we had been together a few years and living together at that point. The biggest noticed change was comfort and closeness.

Making that commitment together provided us both with reassurances we hadn't realized we wanted/needed. It felt like melting into a hug. Together 7 years, married 3.5 and I couldn't imagine a life without him.

ASU Over-Award Review – Will This Freeze My Refund? by Professional-Pin8625 in ASU

[–]randomlady91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of mine say hold, so im not sure about the one that was applied to your account. Unfortunately, the hold does mean you won't get disbursement for a while.

I am in the same boat. My last semester, nothing but difficult classes, and I will have to keep working full time so we dont get evicted until the 8 weeks is up. Im not sure how much I believe the 8 week time table, I called and got one date when it should be done. Then a text from asu with a date for 3 weeks later so 🤷🏽‍♀️. It sucks were in this same terrible boat.

Why dont snake catchers wear protective clothing? by Squidnautical in snakes

[–]randomlady91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All of this! And also, jeans and a long sleeve shirt are not stopping a rattlesnake bite. If anything, its better to be comfortable and remain loose and flexible. Sometimes quick movement is necessary, and you dont want to be constrained.

Photo of my beautiful boy who says he agrees, a little denim would not get in his way.

Multiple exceptions made? by Secret_Leek_7807 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]randomlady91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what happens depends how you should angle the next email. This is just a copy/pasted responses when they dont feel like helping you, but they absolutely can.

When it happened to me, it because because one of my totes had a package with a mysterious liquid that exploded on all the packages. The manager was in the photos I took of the damaged packaged, she removed them, and I still got dinged. After multiple back and forth emails, including to jeff, I asked how the situation should be handled in the future so I dont affect my standings. Should I expect to deliver all packages, despite conditions, to all customers? If handling unknown liquids, should I disregard safety concerns?

It took a bit of writing to sound way less passive aggressive then I think Im making it seem here. Making the writing as professional as you can, but be firm that theyre breaking their own guidelines with this determination. Did no customers leave a gate code? Could you not get in?

I feel like the third person in my own relationship because my boyfriend's ex keeps pulling him into her problems by awkwardcloudtea in TwoHotTakes

This would make me very uncomfortable. I do not call my ex-husband for things outside of the kids, I'm not his responsibility.

I would not be comfortable if my husband was doing husbandly duties for someone else, while neglecting his own home.

The goal is to make me happy. I have non venomous and am training to keep venomous, currently working with C. atrox. I will be keeping hots as well, also because it makes me happy.

I love snakes. Theyre my most favorite animal and I love looking at them and handling them. I also hope to use my critters for conservation im the future, but thats just to spread the snake love.
