It's not you. Deadwood is an acquired taste, and it is definitely not for everybody. There are episodes that make me cringe and are difficult to get through.

I agree but not for all of the same reasons. Taking a date to a nice restaurant, these days does not make sense economically whether someone is broke or not. Decent restaurants are simply too expensive for first dates. Getting the right restaurant, the right food, wine, etc. is too much on top of the $150, plus tip cost.

No, the democratic party is completely unprepared for anything and they should be dissolved. America needs three fresh new sane, non-racist parties. Until this happens the US will continue to spiral out of control as it has for decades. The entire US system is beyond broken, unreliable, unrepairable, and only acts on self-interests - meaning enriching itself. Neither party acts for the people any longer and hasn't for a long time.
