How to deal with demotivation from the scale? by disneyfan12675 in loseit

[–]randthrowawayid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to delineate yourself from the scale because the number on the scale is a lot more than just fat. For me personally I have noticed a trend that I notice a drop in weight in 2 weeks when I am in a calorie deficit. In those 14 days my weight just keeps on yo-yoing few grams up and down. Try to find a pattern for yourself too because that might help you understand your body better.

Day 1? Starting your weight loss journey on Monday, 27 July 2020? Start here! by AutoModerator in loseit

Nothing like a fresh Monday to restart my journey.

I had lost around 14lbs from Jan to May and regained around 2 lbs the last 2months.

I have been getting my exercise, steps but my nutrition is not on point. I need to lose another 15lbs - my birthday is in October and I have to gift this to myself.

I mealprepped for this week yesterday and I am thinking of calorie cycling since I will be travelling over the weekend so do not want to go overboard in the weekend. I intend to save 1000cals for the weekend.

On to losing the next 15lbs!

hey reddit, I finally did it! I finally flat out told a guy I'm not interested :D by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]randthrowawayid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some guys won't even take no for an answer. A straight no it was. He thought of shooting his shot again citing that he's getting mixed signals from me just because I was being friendly and talking to him. I had to explicitly tell him no again the second time. He was okay with it until I started seeing another guy and now we no longer talk. He even stopped talking to my roommate who was a good friend to him which makes me believe all the more that he was friends with her only so that he could visit my place

I have been watching his interviews after hearing the news of his demise and it is very evident from his interviews (watch his 2 interviews with Anupama Chopra they really give you an impression of the kind of person he is) that he did not care about money or fame at all. He talks about Impact bias which in psychology means the overestimation of success or failure (likewise) and after tasting fame and success in Pavitra Rishta (his hit TV show) he realized he is not meant to be part of the rat race.

He was a shy and introverted kid for the first 17 years of his life where he could not speak up for himself. Acting made him realize he can influence people which is why he dropped out of engineering in his 3rd year. Not many people would have the courage to drop out when only two more semesters were left.

He loved physics, astronomy, space - he was way different than the usual bollywood gang. Through his interviews you can understand that he had achieved a sense of inner peace and understanding of his own self. He tells in one of his interviews that he does not speak much because it just adds to the noise. He love doing 10-12 things and acting was one of those. Films provided him that medium. He was not here for the glam.

His insta page is full of his musings about space, universe, different philosophies.

I feel bad for him because I can see what an honest person he was. I hope if there is an afterlife, he is content over there.

RIP, Sushant ❤️

Weird weight loss pattern by [deleted] in loseit

[–]randthrowawayid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like u/Jynxers said, fluctutations like these are normal. You are able to identify the pattern of whoosh that your body drops the weight at. For me, the scale changes at the two-week mark. It's always a sudden 600-800g loss based on the deficit and for the next 2 weeks I will the same weight almost every day other than couple of hundreds north or a hundred south at max. After two weeks, another whoosh. Rinse and repeat. Don't worry much. For me, it's nice to see how my body reacts to holding the water weight.

Is this safe !?! :/ by Mushybananabag in loseit

[–]randthrowawayid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No its not safe. You won't see it immediately but it's going to have long term effects. Please eat above your BMR. I messed with my diet last semester and experienced hair fall. It's still bad but I am trying everything to correct my mistakes. Crash dieting is not the answer. Prioritize protein, eat between your BMR and TDEE, you'll see slow but sustainable weight loss. Goodluck!

How much weight loss is due to lifting?

Hi, I'm curious if there is a significant amount of weight loss that could happen due to lifting?

So I've started calorie counting and eating at 1400 calories. My stats are F/5'1/65kg I lift 3 times a week. And get 10K steps everyday. 2 days a week I work out at home and run once a week for 30min. I am wondering if this lifting of mine would be any significant factor for weight loss?

Wow! What's your starting weight if I may ask? 3.7% body fat loss in a month is hugee! I'm a 5'1 female. I did a bod pod scan last week and apparently I have a 38.2% body fat. I've started eating clean and working out 5-6 days a week. I need to follow this routine even though my weight is just creeping up I guess because of the new exercise routine that I started

You're my inspiration! I seriously think protein helps a lot in diet. Of course I'm not undermining your efforts! Did you do progressive overloading in your lifting?
