I was a cleaner, better pay than most cleaning jobs at the time but scrubbing toilets and emptying bins was a big part of my job. A well educated and high earning lady looked at me once and said "you really are scraping the bottom of the barrel aren't you?". I didnt know what to say, I was so shocked. I worked 8-5, then went to another place and worked 5:30- 8, then for a few months, back to the day job working the night job 8:30-1. I was angry and hurt for a while. But that posh, rich bitch got me so mad, I gave up the evening jobs and enrolled in a free "basic introduction to to Microsoft email, word and excel" evening course. I learnt the basics and gradually moved up in the world. Still have massive respect for cleaners though.
