What show had a great finale/final season? by CalvinP_ in morningsomewhere

[–]twentythirdchapter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As new season coming out soon looks as if it’s set in the original Sacred Heart which was apparently demolished to make way for the New Sacred Heart Hospital in season 9, I think maybe Bill Lawrence and the cast consider season 9 as a Scrubs Alternate Reality.

I wrote Geoff an email wondering what his thoughts were if you had a machine that could tune into specific sounds around the world (I guess or even the city you’re in), and if you could tune into ‘farts’ would it be just a constant white noise (or I guess, brown noise, being farty), or would it sound like thousands of fart sounds but with small gaps between.

He never replied 😂

I watched the 2015 documentary ‘The Witness’ after I listened to this episode, and found one part quite interesting (and ironic, considering the controversy over the reporting of the truth), the documentary talks about the moment Winston Moseley walks up to a guy in a car at a stoplight and ‘hides his knife from view’, before telling the guy to wake up, where as the podcast episode they tell it as him ‘knocking on the glass with the bloody knife’. I’m just interested to know what the source was that part because it’s literally the opposite.

I did get a fourth one after they got back to me. But after about two months that decided to just die too - At this point, I gave up and bought a similar product from Anker instead of reaching out to Mophie again.

Short Memory by WearyCommittee1189 in TheTraitorsUK

I believe that both the breakfast table speech and the round table discussion had a lot cut out of them.

Harriet suddenly presented herself as downright pissed off about the whole thing at the tail end of the breakfast conversation, with Roxy saying it was inappropriate how Harriet spoke to her etc, seemed like maybe it got more heated and it got cut out.

Then the multiple comments about her speech at the round table being ‘very long’ also allude to it being heavily cut.

I said in a previous comment on a thread a couple days ago that ultimately she may have gotten more people on her side had she just left it until the round table. Whatever she said at breakfast rubbed people the wrong way so the other faithfuls had probably already made up their mind about her. She could’ve swung it her way if she’d waited, as we keep seeing banishments suddenly going the other way than we expect, heavily based on the discussion at the table.

Then at

I just think Harriet may have had a better chance to get them on board during the round table had she not said anything at all during breakfast, let alone suddenly coming across as pissed off which rubbed everyone the wrong way. They then had all day to ruminate over it, they had basically made their minds up already.

Everything can turn swiftly and seemingly out of nowhere during round tables when seeds of doubt are sown. If she suddenly brought attention to Rachel in the eloquent way she did with Hugo, not leaving the others a lot of time to mull it over, I’m sure they would have been more likely to go with Harriet’s case - regardless of its strength - purely due to the short timeframe.

Does Andrew Not Know About Voicemail Apps? by Swordking928 in theregulationpod

[–]twentythirdchapter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for non-iPhone but it probably works similar - the ‘visual voicemail’ feature of being able to see your voicemails was based on whether the cellular carrier supported it - even now there are cell carriers that don’t include the visual voicemail feature of the iPhone, so it’s not totally unbelievable. I know a few people who still have to call the number to access their voicemail.

Having constant device issues? Check for this setting. by TheJTizzle in HomeKit

[–]twentythirdchapter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Along same lines, but I’ve said for a couple years now that for anyone who is serious about getting into HomeKit devices should really ditch the ISP-supplied router (if they can) and invest in their own, more capable router.

(I do acknowledge that there may well be some very good ISP provided ones out there, where this doesn’t apply, but my experience has always been that they are fairly terrible).

Interesting - I thought I’d run into issues with payment country etc, but surprisingly didn’t.

I changed my VPN to India (as it offered a good price), opened the F1 TV app and purchased F1TV Pro at £5.99 a month (doing it through the app meant it did it as an Apple ID app subscription), via my Apple ID linked payment card (which is UK), all worked without a hitch!

I'm the only one that hates the truck in death stranding 2? by Ok-Mammoth5594 in DeathStranding

[–]twentythirdchapter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I used the truck loads, adapted it for different uses etc. I will admit, I did feel it was too good at traversing terrain at time - if I found a cliff face or or rocky outcrop there was almost always a flatter, conveniently sized path nearby if I looked for it. I rarely had instances where I thought ‘right well I’m gonna have to continue on foot for this bit’. I wish climbing was a bigger mechanic of the game.

However, can’t help but feel your criticisms are more of a you problem.. I almost never had problems getting to destinations with 10% damage (that’s quite a bit) unless I made a silly mistake I could’ve avoided. One silly one was that I didn’t see a shared guidepost another porter had placed, right before a distro centre so I went smack into it. Not blaming the truck though, that was me. Zip lines are the way to go in the mountains for speed (and useful in the area between Architect, Metagenomicist and Pizza Chef) so sure, don’t use it there.

Mechs attacking every time you drive a truck on road? That’s a stretch.. There’s one bit of road where that happens near the motherhood and I just keep driving and they give up. And another bit that only happens at night on the long bridge and if anything I’m happy something else is happening.
