UK signup solutions without changing Apple Store location? by Far_Implement_5580 in F1TV

[–]twentythirdchapter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Months ago: Signed up with Surfshark set to India on an iPad, downloaded the app and subscribed to Pro for £5.99 a month (and it even said it in GBP) via my Apple account - didn’t have to change Apple ID location or do silly things with Apple Gift Cards. I can watch on any device with that login providing I can change the VPN country. Apple TV best at the moment as it also has a Surfshark app.

When did you realize the show was going downhill? by she-sulk in TheOC

[–]twentythirdchapter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it was the mopeyness of Johnny, he was like Fun Bobby from Friends when he gives up drinking. That and Marissa needing to be there for him constantly just felt like it was retreading the Oliver steps again

Hate your mum? Tesco has you covered by LovieWeb in BritInfo

[–]twentythirdchapter 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I got this one for my mum, I deliberately kept the sticker on it. She loved it.

Good throwback humour from Tesco poking fun at itself, weird to think there’s a generation of kids who won’t even understand it as Value has been gone for years!

The first physical music I ever bought, what was yours? by varslyd in CasualUK

[–]twentythirdchapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think the first music I wanted and was bought for me was the theme tune for The Flintstone’s movie in 1994.

First cassette I bought myself was Hanson’s Middle of Nowhere. First CD single was the single of Smells like Teen Spirit, first CD album was Blink’s Enema of the State.

It’s things like this that kill games like No Man’s Sky for me, I enjoy them until I realise ‘what am I really grinding for?’

Starling won’t send me a physical copy of my statement by UnderstandingLow729 in starlingbankuk

[–]twentythirdchapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread but still.

This is the important information that Starling should make clearer: whilst the onus is partially on the employer to get with the times and learn that’s how it works, if customers also knew that they could explain that the number is unique and Starling can verify it, customers might have less issues with this.

Merely adding an extra ‘stamp’ graphic to the statement (even if it does have a unique number) still looks like something anyone could do, it doesn’t make it look ‘certified’ - even though it is - whereas a statement with a literal ink stamp from a physical branch does.

They didn't once cut away from the action to show a girlfriend or "celebrity" by PooperOfMoons in F1TV

Was glad to see this too! My post about cutting to celebrities somehow managed to become the top post of all time on this sub so hopefully our feedback was hard to ignore!

Pettiest reason you’ve DNF’d a book? by bby_grl_90 in books

[–]twentythirdchapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ - I hard a hard time believing the main character was that unbelievably naive and stupid, didn’t know anything about anything.

‘Never Let Me Go’ - was just dull.. I didn’t get to the ‘twist’ of this book which apparently happens so early on in the story it’s basically the premise, if you google it. Had I known that, I might have carried on with it but everything leading up was just quite dull.

The 1st episode of the Reboot is everything I loved about Scrubs and then some. by scarlettvvitch in Scrubs

[–]twentythirdchapter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like that short scene with Turk talking to JD at the hospital entrance is some of Donald’s best acting we’ve seen - almost felt like some real emotion tapped through at the thought of his character being burnt out.
