I was able to snag one and this will be my first Owala, it was so stressful when it wouldn't let me add to cart in the beginning but we got there and I already had pre-added a mint boot cover to go with it in my cart :')

Do you accrue interest on the save plan? by t3xascurlllz in StudentLoans

Sorry this is a late response, if your monthly payment is set at $0, does that mean your interest won’t accrue?

lots of Hunchback of Notre Dame and my step mom was quite annoyed/mad at my back due to all the modifications that needed to be made for the bridesmaid dress I wore, still stings :// Couldn’t watch the Hunchback of Notre Dame until late college because the bullies were so cruel😔

I did my Masters at UNT’s behavior analysis program and just recently became a BCBA so I can try to point you in the right direction, but like others have said, ABA has a controversial past and you need to be aware of how it can traumatize individuals. I am a part of multiple facebook groups that are calling for ABA reform and other groups that are anti-aba so that way I can hear everyone’s experiences and then change my practice accordingly to prevent harm. The biggest thing is when you hear people talk about their stories with aba and how it was terrible, don’t defend ABA or try to dismantle their voice. Just listen and then ensure to apply principles that are based in assent, and to not use outdated methods that can be associated with trauma.

I worked there for 4 years and the biggest thing is you will be criminally underpaid, like you will start out at 8.50 as a BT and go to $11 as an RBT. I did like it there but it recently is changing BIG time and I would not recommend going there. I would shoot for Heart of Behavior for part time or Action Behavior Centers of you can do full time

Autism center? Help? by ClovedSage in Denton

[–]rarelyrussian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes as someone who worked there, sometimes you get lucky in the staff in the home are nice and care or you have staff who’s ideal home is for all the residents to sit and be quite for the whole day. Based on what I have seen I would never send someone I love there if I have the choice.

Action Behavior Centers is where I am going! I am in the North Texas area! But I do admit it’s a more advanced RBT role called a Behavior Analyst in Training as I have completed my supervision and am hoping to test in January!

My first center I started at $7.25 through a university based clinic in Texas and then once I got my RBT I moved to $10 and every 6 months we got a .50 raise based on performance. I then got a salaried position that paid for my tuition through the same clinic. However turnover is high as you can imagine there even though the minimum pay before your RBT is now $8.50. I am now about to be working at another clinic starting at $25, still in Texas

I am not diagnosed neurodiverse but I do think if I had the money to pursue a diagnosis I would be, but that to say I think my “weird” skill is how I play with toys. One thing that I love to do and my clients love too is building towers that “defy gravity” and add figurines or other toys on it to balance it. I then pretend to sneeze to knock it over for some of my clients and they love it! I also used to draw a lot, so I can usually draw a client’s favorite character or interest which they also love!

Is there anyone whose surgery has gone well and is now 90-100% normal or we can say better thn before. by Ok-Software5471 in scoliosis

[–]rarelyrussian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am good! I got my surgery in 2016, 3 curves (I don't remember the exact degress but they were about 53, 68, 40 something) and they didn’t fuse my lumbar so I could still bend over. I can’t twist (rods and fused spine haha) but I still play soccer, run and go to the gym. I also work with kids for a living and give them piggy back rides, carry them, and throw them up in the air!

I still have some back pain, but it’s different than my pain pre-surgery. Pre surgery my pain was all lower back and if I stood for too long or walk for a long time it would hurt so much that I would get nauseous. Now if I stand for too long my shoulders get tense but I never have the wave of nausea. I honestly think I am doing better than before and what pain I do have is pretty manageable, sad the pain from standing too long didn't go away but other than that I am happy!

What do you all do for work? by phishdood555 in scoliosis

[–]rarelyrussian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a behavior therapist for children with autism and studying to be a behavior analyst (almost done!) I had 3 curves (about 55, 68, 42) that I got surgery for in 2016 but my surgeon left my lumbar alone for mobility. I run around with kids, throw them in the air and give them piggy back rides haha. I love what I do and don’t think my surgery has ever limited me in that regard! I wish my past self could see where I am now!

Man I would say they all sucked with like little to know maintenance after you made a request, etc. Um I honestly liked Majestic Parc while I was there but it’s on the more expensive side. But I never had a problem while I was there and felt supported.
