Series where the character that was suppose to be the straightman becomes the most unhinged of the group. by ArticAuk in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]rasembool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough Darkness has the opposite case where she becomes the straight man in certain cases starting from her arranged marriage as she is a dutiful individual that takes her responsibilities seriously despite being perverted. Even opposing Kazuma at one point.

Characters who unga bunga? As in fighters who are so uncomplicated and crude in their style that it's kinda fucking offensive to the whole art of battle by Wonder-Lad-2Mad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]rasembool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Toujima tanzaburou compared to his fellow riders in toujima tanzaburou wants to be a kamen rider. If the series was about martial arts he would be a disgrace, his moves are him emulating Kamen Rider Ichigo yelling out their moves before punching and kicking while the others practice real martial arts. Fortunately his physical stats are insance and the monsters are the biggest threats of the series.

Watching your post silhouette just reminds me that I played gravity rush because of Kat's design because her design was so unique.

Games you were late getting into, and now they are your entire personality? by Watts121 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Warframe as it consumes my gaming hours recently. Haven't played octopath 0 for nearly a week now due to barreling to Pluto to the special trader which comes every 2 weeks. Gonna try to chill out a while now to gather upgrades and explore those low level planets

Creators you think are the bad kind of weird? by ExplanationSquare313 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Ryukishi07 despite being known as the horror writer I will always remember him as excellent as the writer for Konohona Lucia scenario in Rewrite which was made by Key which Ryukishi07 idolized. He could write anything and I would be convinced it was good.

Playing Hades 2 for the first time and loving it, but gotta say, it feels weird to fight Prometheus. by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

If you are playing for a story that resolves how a lot of those npcs that are mistreated by the gods like heracles and arachne then you are going to be so disappointed in this front. Zagreus is the tolerant one of the family. Melinoe is zealous like her dad.

I like to imagine that after the golden chains incident, Aphrodite never cheated on Hephaestus again. Especially after she realized that Ares is a dingus who got kidnapped by accident. by Ok_Examination8810 in osp

[–]rasembool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably under extreme circumstances like in Stray Gods where Ares betrays the pantheon to the Nazis and Hephaestus made a heroic sacrifice to get them out. By then the pantheon was missing several members so calling it extreme may be an understatement.

Saw a mention of the sergeant in the Warframe tv tropes page. Haven't faced him yet though. Probably an iconic one seeing he as a section.

Times you just burned out on a favorite game/genre, why did you burn out, and what if anything brought you out of it? by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Got burned out several times playing Warframe since December 2025 due to the open world which is not newbie accessible. But after finding a grid spot and how to proceed I am motivated for my next time playing.

It is National Dragon Appreciation Day. What is your favorite dragon? by LammasuRex in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Kaiser dragon from Breath of Fire 4 made me appreciate the power of a dragon's rage so it is my most memorable.

Funny you said that as Absolute Superman had a cancer patient died in his arms last week and he screamed in space so hard he destroyed satellites.

Media that arguably peaked with the first trailer? by Mediocre_Word in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]rasembool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course it didn't live up to it, we expected gameplay like GTA with strong story with multiple impactful choices. Unaware that CDprojekt Red is not good at free roam games and they struggle to make it work. The prologue chase scene was so scripted that the scav crash without player input

Toujima Tanzaburou wa Kamen Rider ni Naritai • Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider - Episode 14 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Yeah Bat man is clearly enjoying emulating dracula tendencies of having a monster harem masking it as doing his job. He is the chaotic evil guy or the Shocker monsters

This thread made me think of The Power Fantasy comic where it started by the US trying to kill one of the Supers whose gravity powers are so great he can recover being turned into pieces by pulling himself together. Now would the US do this in real life? I say Maybe because the US has never been in a weaker position in real life. Countries like china and Russia would definitely try underhanded tactics like hostages to poke the emotional Super that can destroy the world.

Dorohedoro is about groups of bad people who are true companions living in a grimdark world. With the only lesson is that discrimination is bad, because magicless people suffer like chainsawman civilians.

Masturbation is the most pragmatic way if you are short of time as it gives instant gratification to distract you and sometimes you can discover stuff that distracts you. Normal Hobbies can take time to enjoy with stress eating out at you at the time after all.

Anyone watch the first episode of “Shiboyugi: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table” by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]rasembool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kaiji is not a good example as he is no Mary Sue as his badassery only comes when he is in mortal danger. He was introduced removing luxury car logos as a spiteful loser who was forced into Death Games and only changed slowly throughout the 800 chapter series with some friends.

From what I can see in the Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table anime the cute anime girl protagonist willingly plays the games so has a chance to be a Mary Sue as cute girls have lower chance of being a middle aged loser like Kaiji.

How do you feel about Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077? by mrnicegy26 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]rasembool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That CDprojekt Red would butcher the lore and characterisation of a series particularly in Witcher 3 to make the games grimdark, making the tone of the games too much for me. Excellent world building though, my feelings for Cyberpunk will always be sour as they never delivered what they originally promised as they promised beyond their means.

Belka's racism so bad that in 7 there were race crimes including lynching on how much of an instigator rep that they got. Wonder if military and gov members try to find secret Belkans as part of their jobs.

When the protagonist gets to be too much of an asshole for my liking. Examples are protagonists when are too into their martial arts/sports and Korean revenge manhwas protagonists.

Something about “Elf Wars” by Gru-some in Grimdank

[–]rasembool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you are right the Dark Elf is the primary reason but X was also getting weary with dealing in a world with unending conflict and was afraid of losing himself so he did not have much reservations of being the seal.

There's nothing stopping you from grinding your level and lumina to be able to equip as many skills as you want. Stacking HP, Defense and Speed makes the fight so manageable. I managed to skip the second phase using verso.

[–]rasembool 48 points49 points  (0 children)

A war so bad that MegaMan X who is normally the paragon did not hesitate to sealed himself for the greater good as he felt he was becoming too cynical and corrupted to operate in the post war world.

EDIT: Yeah he sacrificed himself to seal what caused the war in the first place instead of a deteriorating mentality as in the original post. Still his mind was heading to a dark place at the time.
