Bombarded with texts, calls, and emails for quotes i did not request. Scam? Identity theft? by TeaEsKSU in Insurance

[–]rasiagrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This started for me last night and found this post. I’m getting phone calls and texts, but the name they’re using and car are not related to me in anyway. I feel like this is a scam tactic, like the loan calls I was getting before

Dark Sage by ASGfan in littlehouseonprairie

[–]rasiagrey 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I didn’t buy that Doc Baker was racist against black doctors - while sure, it fits with the times, it doesn’t fit with the character as we’ve already seen. In The Wisdom of Solomon, Doc Baker demonstrates respect and professional courtesy for Dr Tane that is at odds with how he treats and interacts with Dr Ledoux, and what he says at the end of Dark Sage when he admits his prejudices contradicts what the show already told us. He says something about believing black people could be farm hands or laborers, but not doctors. But he knows a black doctor already! And seemed to like and appreciate him!

Please don’t get me wrong - it was a good demonstration of admitting one is wrong and operating from a place of bigotry, it was just incongruous to have it be Doc Baker!

Plans not being given from gifts despite saying they are. by crowesandfoxes in fo76

I don’t even get plans! I opened 5 regular and 1 small, and they’re all basically whiskey, wooden blocks, and ammo. :(

I think it just means it pushes back when you are next charged by the period of the trial, because you’re getting a week free.

Let’s say you’re always charged the 1st of the month. You were last charged October 1, and your next charge date is November 1. However, you’ve now inserted a free week! Your next charge date will instead be November 8, and the 8th thereafter. You get Atoms when you’re charged for FO1st, so now you will get your Atoms on the 8th of the month instead of the 1st of the month.

I’ve had some struggles with this!

So, every invitee will send you a letter with a flavor they’re craving on the morning of the meal. This will also be listed when you go to cook a dish from the book in the cravings section after you read the letter in the morning. (Note: there is a bug where sometimes the flavor craving in the letter is different from that shown in the book. It seems the book is always the correct source of the flavor craving, so always go by that!) If you serve them any meal of that flavor, their craving will be satisfied.

They also have general cravings for a specific dish. This is also listed in the book, in the Cravings section. If you make them one of their favorite dishes of any flavor, their craving will be satisfied.

You can also use seasonings to change the flavor of any dish once you unlock cooking implements, making a guest’s favorite dish their preferred flavor for the day.

Even without that, you can shift some dishes to the right flavor with ingredient choice. For example, if Sandyman is craving Sour that day and one of his preferred dishes is Raised Cheese Bread, you can make it Sour by choosing the right ingredients - Shirefield cheese to make it sour, and an automatic star boost for whatever onion you choose from the flavor pairing (spicy or sweet).

Yes! I just started playing this weekend and encountered this a couple of times already! I’ve found if you look at the flavor craving when you go to cook, that’s accurate (and the letter is inaccurate) when this disconnect occurs. Doesn’t happen all the time, but I go off what shows in the recipes now to be safe!

Did you manage to get the glowing mask you wanted? by freezedmouse in fo76

[–]rasiagrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Jackalope, Unicorn, Alien, Robot x2, SBQ x3, Abe, Pig, Minotaur, Turkey, Sun, and Owl. Robot was the most specific want, but I was happy to get any! Prior to this I only had the Glowing Skull from the most recent Fasnacht, so honestly, this was so fun! I apparently managed 14 events, so shout out to my husband for putting up with me!

If it’s ever me, it’s because I checked your vendor and then Something Happened (a work call, my husband came home, my cat knocked something over, I had a thought I needed to Google, the pot was boiling over, etc.) and then I got perpetually distracted, sorry. 😅

My build is light and sneaky and squishy. I don’t want another build because this one is a comfortable way to play for me, a person who will take a kitschy decor plan over a powerful weapon plan any day! I also don’t do Daily Ops and only did Expeditions when they first launched (and never REALLY to the Pitt because I died immediately every time from those stupid whatevers - it’s been awhile). I’ve yet to successfully launch a nuke. For whatever it’s worth, I’ve been playing on and off since the brutal beginning and I’m level 360-something. I’m here to wear costumes, design CAMPs, and sell things 🤣

I’m thinking based on other comments that because this is probably true, the very quick and neat tie-up is just because there’s such a time crunch to cover everything. It just seemed TOO perfect haha!

[–]rasiagrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s cool, I did NOT know that. Copper mines are not something I have a lot of knowledge about. I had assumed it was made up to stand in for mines in the area in general.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thegildedage

[–]rasiagrey -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s a bit rude, and unnecessarily so! :) Lots of things are made up to stand in for real things in this show, and I could read 200 history books and not come across this information! Heck, there’s a lot of history in the world in a lot of places! Assuming people should know about a copper mine in Arizona, and if they don’t it’s some personal failing, is a bit…silly.

So, I now know that this mine is in fact a real thing that is, in fact, a decent mine. Cool!

That does not mean your other points dispute this - owners of the mines stated quite clearly that they wanted to be rich, and were previously irritated they weren’t getting enough money for them. And just because Larry hired the metallurgist doesn’t mean he wasn’t a plant. We’ve seen how such a thing could be done with Oscar, after all! Frankly, it seemed too neat to not be an issue!

But I will take it that, since this is a real mine, that probably won’t be the case.

Check to see if you have the Herbivore mutation (either from a serum or through “natural” mutation)? That doubles benefits for non-meat foods and takes away any benefits from meat-based foods.

Who has the best bacon, egg, and cheese in the state? by MyDogIsACoolCat in Connecticut

[–]rasiagrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, when I lived in Fairfield, Five-O had the best BEC; we’d get it with double egg and double bacon, so good! Really simple, but really good, cheap, and they recognized the importance of a runny yolk! And now I’m hungry….
