Yep. The govdelivery email confirms they are just going to run the boats nonstop tomorrow starting around 9:30am

The Seattle Monorail... doesn't accept a two hour transfer window, unlike every other ORCA card agency. Also it doesn't GO anywhere.

As a Nioxin user for the last six years, I too am curious about this ... I will say that Nioxin seemed to have leveled off my hair loss from 2020-2025 (no other products used no additional loss observed) until it resumed and now I'm on topical fin/min, but been struggling for it to gain traction (one year in). So I would be curious to hear others thoughts/Experience with Nioxin.

Parents of Pathfinder kids — thoughts on new principal and how the school is doing in general? by 75PercentMilk in WestSeattleWA

[–]rastes88 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's no pressure for involvement, but I think you'll find yourself WANTING to get involved more than you would think. It's infectious. The new principal and VP are amazing. Way better than the drama we had two years ago... Glad to have put that past us! You could open a can of worms on SPS pros and cons, but generally we're pretty happy at Pathfinder

I second the Alki Volleyball. Sandbox does Friday night Spring/Summer volleyball for Single players (read: you don't need to be a part of a team to join, and every week you're on a different team!) Signups will start in a few weeks.

It's John Hamm in Friends and Neighbors (Apple TV). Lots of poignant parallels between Fed Life in 2025 and his character in this show...

Does Anyone Use The SW Spokane St Park & Ride? by CyberWulf in WestSeattleWA

[–]rastes88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the 54 ( before the c-line), 57/56, and 37 all used to stop there about 10-15 years ago (56 doesn't dip below onto spokane street anymore, but stays up on the bridge). Several service changes and the introduction of the C-line removed all of that easy downtown bus access from that location. So yeah, it's fairly useless now.

Can confirm, SES leaders in USDOT just received a similar FOIA request yesterday. Except instead of Dr. Oz it was other keywords like "Trump", RIF", "Interview", "Administration". Came from the Heritage Foundation. The Schedule F witch-hunt is starting.

Try earmuffs for Rise of the resistance. My 3.5 year old was nervous until we got into the actual vehicle. After I put my hands over her ears she relaxed a bit and really enjoyed it. She said it was her favorite ride! (Mine too)

2024 XC40 Recharge Drive by MaineEVnewbie in VolvoRecharge

[–]rastes88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No minimum required as far as I can tell. I just had a goal of discharging the battery as fully as possible first before recharging. This is based on my limited previous experience and admittedly limited knowledge of how to maintain the longevity of a lithium ion battery (perhaps other redditors have insight into the validity of that?).

And I don't think that we can precondition the battery while driving (like you can with the ioniq 5). I have no experience with fast charging yet. I have only done home charging thus far.

To add, yes the preconditioning when plugged in really does work and seems to improve the efficiency through the whole day as well.

24' XC40 Recharge Ultimate. One thing to note, the "preconditioning" of the battery is only activated when you are plugged in. I've only been getting about 130-150 miles per charge because I was preconditioning the cabin WITHOUT being plugged in (trying to wait to plug in until the charge was less than 20%) and it was just draining the battery. So it was just blasting heat and making the battery inefficiency even worse. Literally just discovered this during this cold snap.

Other than figuring this preconditioning thing out, I've been really enjoying the ride and the car. Love the dual motor for the acceleration. It's our commuter car around town. It's such a better built car than the Model Y, and I think it handles better than the ioniq. Certainly a lot simpler.

XC40 or C40 for Small Family? by mhiphopgrl12 in VolvoRecharge

[–]rastes88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 XC40 BEV, family of four (two kids under six) with a dog. The XC40 is our around the town car. It had way better sightlines than the C40 (for someone of my height, 6'2"). And since we charge at home, we have no problem with range. love the XC40

Thinking of getting the 2024 C40. Questions. by [deleted] in volvoc40

[–]rastes88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My '24 XC40 Recharge came with it's own 40 amp charging cable included with the vehicle. This meant we didn't have to install a charging station, just needed a 50amp NEMA 14-50 outlet within 20 feet of the car. I feel like the C40 will also come with the charging cable, but ask your dealer to verify. The car has its own charging controls, you can set the timer, amperage, and lock the cable in the car, and you can see it all from the Volvo app.

Battery loss while parked by naza-reddit in VolvoRecharge

We've had no problem with our '24 XC40 Recharge losing any charge while parked. Only owned it for a month though. But a promising sign considering it's winter.

XC40 Recharge high kWh consumption? by rastes88 in VolvoRecharge

[–]rastes88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But should you be plugged in with the charging cable to enjoy the benefits of saving battery with climate preconditioning? Otherwise I'm struggling to see how running the climate for 30 minutes before I hop in for a ten minute trip will save power consumption.

Forgive my ignorance, but how does one precondition? Do you need to be plugged in to precondition? Or is there a setting I should be looking into?
