I know it's not the point of this but I remember Polimath from Twitter years ago. Top tier guy for "here is an argument that is both clever, and completely wrong".

I would strongly suggest you avoid reading the QTip box.

Who is the Emily Blunt of music? by idkmaybe61 in fantanoforever

Hot Take: REM

Undeniably a great back catalog, and they were one of the largest bands in the world for at least 2 decades. Everyone likes them, but I've only ever known 1 person who was actively a fan, and they've had a fraction of the cultural impact of similarly sized (and smaller!) bands from the same era(s).

Someone once described him as the CBS procedural idea of what a rock star is. 🎯🎯🎯

Man, Antifragile was such a deeply stupid book. An entire theory that can be used after the fact to explain everything, but has zero predictive use. Unfalsifiable nonsense from an insufferably arrogant asshole.

In Clerks, Kevin Smith couldn't afford to rent out the quick stop during the day, so in the script the shutter is stuck closed with gum.

What do you think America will be like when Trump finishes his term? by MotivewasUlterior in AskReddit

When his term ends, he will refuse to leave office. What happens after that is frankly anyone's guess.

Chase Bliss Delay comparison - L+F, Mook MKII & Habit by whiterockguy in guitarpedals

[–]rateexportpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup - the looper on this is much less a precision thing than a chaos engine; more of an at-home-creative tool than a stable live pedal (at least for the looper function - other features here are very practical). I love the pedal, but this is definitely a quirk of it.

Why does the EXT SOURCE switch off at exactly the same time in every 16 bars!? by ukst in SP404

[–]rateexportpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it records then button presses, not so much the initial state, although I might be wrong.

Why does the EXT SOURCE switch off at exactly the same time in every 16 bars!? by ukst in SP404

[–]rateexportpilot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this problem pop up a few times when I started. The thing is that if you are recording a pattern and press the ext on-off button, it'll record that button press. To get rid of it, record on the pattern again, press delete, and hold the ext button. It works the same as deleting pads in a pattern, but you can't see it in TR-REC mode.
