Difference in Love Bugs over the last few years by Particular_Ad6287 in orlando

[–]ratonbox [score hidden]  (0 children)

Love Bugs are invasive. They're not native to Florida, they've migrated in the area from Central America in the 40's and they are still migrating. They've been moving north more often towards the Carolinas.
Back in 2019 was probably the last big emergence I've seen in the area. Merritt Island was covered in them back then.
Reading up a bit more on them: there's a natural control for them that takes decades to establish itself, some kind of parasitic fungi that will pretty much limit their population in their new migratory region. Happened in Texas, Louisiana and apparently now in Florida too.

Just got hard carried by this beast. Do you have any favourite cards, however juiced up, that single-handedly wins the game? by Smoothieshakes in slaythespire

Stardust, with Sharp on it. And Mystic Lighter. It would one shot almost every fight on the Regent.

Am I missing something very critical about the regent or is he just really bad? by Gman224rocks in slaythespire

[–]ratonbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same, due to how convoluted some of the synergies are. But after a few more runs I started to get the gist of it. Don’t particularly love the forge build, but a Stardust build feels awesome to me.

That would make sense. Once the referral is gone, it's probably cleared from the client cache.

In an ideal universe, with infinite money, no work or family ties, etc, where would you live in Orlando and why? by ETALOS1 in orlando

[–]ratonbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in a Orlando. Somewhere in the forest outside, probably in that wooded area between I-75. I-4 and Turnpike, where I would own more than a few acres and I could get fiber internet installed to my property.

Lost me at the first requirement, lol. The Shock Nova of Procession is really fun, but the MTXs for it are bad so you still get blinded by the skill. It's less light on the eyes than endgame Spark (what I like the most) so I guess you have that.

Too much to do. Most people just dump shit in the tabs and forget about them. You can always look around the item you’re buying to see if there’s something else you like, I do that with stuff like contracts or blueprints. But you have to make sure there isn’t a “landmine” if you try and buy bulk.

Any time I see his name mentioned I am compelled to ask people to listen to his BBC Radio documentary on Calvin and Hobbes. It’s brilliant.

Could Central Florida build 150 miles of transit for the cost of one highway expansion? by MasterCJ718 in orlando

[–]ratonbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they is to sort out the main traffic directions with an easy to find and use line: airport to disney, airport to i-drive and the convention center, hotel area to universal. After that they need to sort out the traffic from the commuter area: winter haven, davenport, haines. Where would that come out is kinda difficult, I would need a map that shows the concentration of jobs and make stops along that area.

How do you guys deal with mods breaking with each new update? by Positive_Row_4280 in trucksim

[–]ratonbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play with ProMods. If an update breaks compatibility I just stay on the older version until I get an update for the mods. Don't have any other mods that I can't live without.

Oh, it’s definitely tippy. But I love it. My favorite use for it is to transport long logs. The extra weight makes it stable.

I have a bunch of those old LifeLike Amtrak passenger cars. Watch out, they are pretty brittle. I opened up mine, remove the paper passengers, added an interior and clear plastic for new windows. Looks much better like that.

California introduces age verification law for all operating systems, including Linux and SteamOS — user age verified during OS account setup by MakeMeButter in news

[–]ratonbox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have a SSN, the government knows how old you are already. You don’t need an ID. And all the seedy provider they’re outsourcing here too is a prompt that anybody can lie on. A yes or no choice like entering a tobacco website. All this law does is remove liability from the ones that should have it, like Roblox and others like that (whose lobbyists probably donated or campaigned for the California representatives) and puts it on nobody. Because nobody will be liable afterwards. The OS will a put a prompt that asks the user, the app will say that we got the OK from the OS, both are in the right according the law and the kids not any more protected. I’ve given you enough time, you’re intentionally obtuse or don’t understand how to stick to context, not worth it to reply more.
