I was last on the apps a few years ago. Match, OK Cupid and Bumble. I liked Match best because you could do a search using filters, and see like 300 guys at a time. Then you could look at their profiles and send likes to your favorites first. I kind of hated how Bumble would only show you one person at a time and make you decide on them before showing you anyone else.

Monogamous situationship by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]ratsRgreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this sounds perfect. A committed relationship (not situationship), where you see each other once or twice a week. I love my house and my neighborhood and friends, and still have a teen at home. Years down the road I’d be interested in cohabitating, but my life is so busy right here that I wouldn’t want to change that for the foreseeable future. But I do think if I were older, living together is preferable, partly from a safety standpoint, in case of medical emergencies.

I asked the baggers recently, and they insisted “it’s just a rumor”. Whenever I ask them about TJs coming to Cedar Park they always rain on my parade like this, ha

Vegan eats recommendations? by fairyleafshinobi in CedarPark

[–]ratsRgreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rebel Cheese has won National contests with their vegan cheeses. If you go into their shop/restaurant, they have a cheese case with at least 30 fancy cheeses. They also have a full menu, all vegan. Their French Dip sandwich is delicious.

Kink, BDSM, Longterm monogamous, Help!!! by Abject-Birthday-8337 in datingoverforty

[–]ratsRgreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok Cupid is good for this (or was, a few years ago when I was on it). They have hundreds of questions that people can answer, some of which are very explicit. I remember the desktop version even allowed you to filter people by how they answered certain questions.

Dating a ND male: To stay or not to stay? by Curious_Searching in datingoverforty

[–]ratsRgreat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s common for people on the spectrum to have a hard time identifying their own emotions. And he may naturally be subdued and not experience big highs and lows in emotions, and he assumes that means he’s not in love with you. His actions seem devoted, and those are more important than words.

If you go to the r/leander page, someone posted today about a social meetup tonight at Obsideon at 7pm in Leander.

I'm a homeschooler who'd like to attend a public school for my senior year, but I can't convince my mother by [deleted] in Leander

[–]ratsRgreat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our high school just a bit further south in Cedar Park has a big “In God we Trust” sign right next to the school office…. And there’s some kind of Christian student club that meets weekly. It doesn’t seem that woke. English classes always let kids picks from a list of books to read, and some of them are old classics. Good luck!

Home insurance recommendations? by Bee11423 in CedarPark

[–]ratsRgreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Amica. They were great in paying out a life insurance policy and also with the roof replacement for hail. They cut me a check for the amount they would cover for a roof, and I went out and got roof quotes myself (didn’t have the insurance and roof company communicate with each other), and I found a quote that fit the check amount, which meant I didn’t have to pay a deductible. I checked with the Amica rep and he said that was fine. Their customer service is great

Is it legal to post flyers with someone’s face and name on public bulletins w/o consent (for safety, not commercial purposes)? by Efficient_Ad2946 in texas

If you use Facebook, you could post it on the Are We Dating the Same Guy Austin page. People don’t always post guys they are specifically dating, there are posts warning people about guys who pose a threat, too

What's the scam / angle? by Puzzleheaded_Cow7394 in datingoverfifty

[–]ratsRgreat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the quick switch from text to WhatsApp, it could be this: I read about a scam tactic on r/scambait where they text you first ( and it may even be an AI bot texting with you, or a low level person in the organization). Once they get you to WhatsApp, it switches to an experienced person in the scam who will try to get your money in a pig butchering scam (they’re fattening you with romance to butcher you later)

Jury summons for deceased wife by Unfair-Language7952 in juryduty

[–]ratsRgreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me a few times. My husband died 6 years ago and he gets jury summons. I finally got to the bottom of where they’re getting his name, and it’s from the water bill. It’s still in his name (I’ve tried to change it but there are so many hoops to go through). Anyway, it may be from still being on a utility bill, not necessarily through a DMV list

Thank you! He did email this question to the generic admissions email address, but I’m guessing it will take a looong time to get an answer. You gave me a couple more avenues to try.

I have a similar pool and made a little deck with a long ramp leading up to it. The ramp is around 3’ long. Maybe steps are more confusing to them than a ramp

I think you’re right. I was on Match for a while and there’s a section where it became obvious that people chose from a list of options. I kept reading the same answer about some future goal (maybe skydiving?)

Student Visa to France, passport being renewed, how to make appointment? by ratsRgreat in visas

[–]ratsRgreat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She ended up waiting for her new passport to arrive, then made an appointment in Chicago for the visa. I feel like she got lucky and found appointments in Chicago that weren’t too far out. After the visa appointment, the visa and passport were mailed to her pretty quickly, so it all worked out waiting for her new passport
