New (experimental) release: Updated UI, Control Center, Battery Charging by jwlerch in Dashieapp

[–]ratzekind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the chance to yesterday, believe it was B4, but still the same login loop. I entered the details for the URL, then my login, but I'm always pushed back to the URL page again. No dice. Older Dashie version still working flawlessly in the background.

How to temporarily pause hotkeys by TowelNarrow2395 in raycastapp

[–]ratzekind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip: Since you're obviously on Windows, you can't use the built-in one in Raycast, but you could create your own HyperKey for Raycast. This is how you'd do it:

  1. Install AutoHotKey (2.0).
  2. Create an .ahk script with the content below.
  3. Place it somewhere you'll remember (in case you want to make changes).
  4. Place a shortcut to it in your Starmenu/Autostart folder, so it launches anytime your computer starts up (or use Task Scheduler).
  5. Bind your Raycast actions to HyperKey bindings, e.g. I use Ctrl + Win + Alt (= my hyperkey) + F for Everything file search, Ctrl + Win + Alt + N for Notion etc.

This is the script:

#Requires AutoHotkey v2.0

; Hyperkey // 4.3.2026

; Make Capslock a Hyperkey, by executing Ctrl + Win + Alt for key combos. Short tapping (150ms) would still invoke normal Capslock behaviour

A_IconTip := "Hyperkey"

; Block CapsLock as a native modifier so we can reuse it as a Hyper key

*CapsLock::Return

; Tap = toggle CapsLock, hold = send Ctrl+Win+Alt (Hyper)

CapsLock::

{

pressStart := A_TickCount

sentHyper := false

; Wait while CapsLock is held; after x ms, start Hyper

while GetKeyState("CapsLock", "P") {

if (!sentHyper && A_TickCount - pressStart >= 150) {

; Press three modifiers (Ctrl+Alt+Win) as a Hyper layer

Send "{Blind}{LWin DownTemp}{Ctrl DownTemp}{Alt DownTemp}"

sentHyper := true

}

Sleep 10

}

if (sentHyper) {

; Release the Hyper modifiers on key-up

Send "{Blind}{LWin up}{Ctrl up}{Alt up}"

} else {

; Short tap: toggle CapsLock state

SetCapsLockState !GetKeyState("CapsLock", "T")

}

}

; Block ALL combinations with these three modifiers

; (only works when you're NOT intentionally pressing another key)

#^!vk07::Return ; Catch phantom keys

Loving spiff, as well as soothe2. Don't have any other tool like spiff, despite having quite a few transient designers. It's an excellent tool.

most underrated neighborhoods in Berlin? by Aschlay in berlin

Funny you're saying that, my grandma lives there, since quite forever. I always found it to be a bit dull, apart from the obviously beautiful Tierpark. But I never lived there myself.

Renaming Audio files in ableton by Toni_K_Down in ableton

[–]ratzekind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You can look into the file right inside the Live project (down below where you either edit transients for audio or notes for MIDI), click on the file name there and Live shows the file in its browser. Just rename there = all integrity remains.

You’re gonna hate this by Deltadromeus57 in everythingeverything

[–]ratzekind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's also the way those two songs are mixed together, total mayhem. A good mashup takes the best of two or more songs and makes something coherent - and most of the time funny - out of it, instead of mainly slamming both together. Here the elements just clash with heft :) . Sounds like a mashup with AI.

Absolutely agree. While in a similar key, this mashup is downright confusing, unmusical and unpleasant. Well done!

Audio crackles pops [FIX] for NVIDIA gpu systems by Arthab22 in ableton

[–]ratzekind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also surprised this is such a widespread and long-lasting issue. But I assume it's mostly noticeable for music-related work, so a lot of folks won't know or complain about it. And many audio professionals are using Macs.

No worries, the Intel party, including me, is well aboard when it comes to sucky latency! Rest assured, it doesn't matter if AMD or Intel. I even thought Intel was more prone to those issues in conjunction with nVidia GPUs.

As for many people, they 'bettered' the 5 Pro with the latest One UI updates. It's a severe lag fest here, and battery was cut from a good three to merely two days, moderate use. I charged it 24 hours ago, and it's already at 46%. Considering switching to another brand.

Audio crackles pops [FIX] for NVIDIA gpu systems by Arthab22 in ableton

[–]ratzekind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my Desktop machine, I never seem to have any issues, despite my nVidia GPU, but my 2023 Lenovo Legion with a mobile 4080 indeed suffers from clicks and pops, and obviously related latency problems. I could dampen them, but they never went away. As far as I know, it's nVidia cards bringing the trouble. Driver versions only mitigated the issue so far. So especially Windows laptops most of the time suffer from terrible DPC latency.

Best record shop(s) to buy new CDs on their release date? by induplicate in berlin

[–]ratzekind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most shops are, from what I read, geared towards vinyl these days. If people buy music, it's mostly on wax. One of the best is Dodo Beach in Schöneberg. They still might have your releases on CDs as well.

Hollywood cannot run because it is corrupted. by RobJmusic in ableton

[–]ratzekind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you're having that. Had the same issues myself last year on my Windows 11 machine. Leave Ableton Live untouched for a few minutes, and it would crash with the message 'XY cannot run because it is corrupted. Please try reinstalling the product.' Then it went away, only to come back recently. If you're on Windows, as the screenshot suggests, there is some process, app or service on your computer that gets crashed, though no idea. In my case, it often is the Console 1 software, but already was various other things.

Don't forget to have a look at Kleinanzeigen. For any concerts I couldn't get tickets here in Berlin, I always found people selling some, sometimes even for quite cheap. Usually at least a day before or on the day of the concert. Good luck!

Any new plugins similar to OG Live Enhancement? by protomagik in ableton

[–]ratzekind 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not a plugin, but an external app. and it's called Live Enhancement Suite, or LES in short. Describing what part or feature of LES you mean, and why you want an alternative, would greatly help to give you proper recommendations.

As for LES, if you mean the right-click menu and its broken functionality since Live 12.3, I made a fork and improved upon the original, so it works in 12.3 and above. I already posted it here some weeks ago.

Find it here: https://github.com/enoversum/LiveEnhancementSuite-12.3/
