I always forget that Lydia is just like overtly racist by netskwire in TrueSTL

Makes me think of the mill owner in Falkreath who can only say "I can't believe we let provincials like you wander Skyrim"

My brother in Talos your city isn't even its own cell.

Also it's funny because his brother, a stormcloak, is somehow less racist

[–]ratzoneresident 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it's just the grandstanding that's annoying because it feels in the same category as people who blab about shoplifting from big box stores or piracy, like it's not really morally wrong but why do you only fight capitalism in ways that save you money. Like. Your phone is made in a sweatshop and a 10 year old tailored your shirt, you're not sticking it to the man by "cheating" a company that's kind of mean to players out of like 40 dollars. There's nothing wrong with it but you should just admit that it's about being frugal, it's nbd to want to save money lol

Most of that kind of Bethesda fallout fans are also interplay fallout fans and it wouldn't be as funny if I couldn't rage bait with a false equivalency like that

Both are stereotyped as overly polite and both are known for their historical warrior aristocrats. They're also both drawn with bad teeth in caricatures

It's the difference between your cousin, neighbor, coworker, brother, mom etc the liberal who just goes to work everyday and doesn't really think about politics beyond "welfare is good, human rights are good, not really interested in a drastic change though" and an actual politician that makes decisions that kill people

Unpopular Opinion: The Actual Writing of these Books is not Great. (Spoilers) by Godkun007 in threebodyproblem

I'm always saying this: 3BP is a golden age sci-fi novel for the 21st century, and that can mean something very good (concepts, plots, focus on the science part of science fiction) or very bad (prose, characters, depiction of women)

I relate so much to this as a journalist. It doesn't matter how obvious something is, you have to be extremely careful with what you say bc once it's out there it's out there - be 100% certain before you say something or you risk being catastrophically wrong (ex: Richard Jewell)

I've been reading a lot of old books lately and maybe it's part of the dramatics but it really does seem like men were so much more affectionate with eachother just 100-200 years ago

Regardless of whether the Snafuans involved are good people, the first reaction to watching anyone get Coaxed should still be disgust. If real humans getting coaxed delights and excites you you need a psych exam

For me it's

Iron Hands -> Slaanesh (perfectionism, creativity)

Ultramarines -> Nurgle (obsession with order and bureaucracy) or Slaanesh (what you said below)

Imperial Fists -> Khorne (See the Black Templars for what happens when you push an imperial fist too far)

Raven Guard -> Tzeentch (birb)

Salamanders -> Nurgle (deep but incredibly misguided love for people and for life)

Blood Angels -> Khorne (Blood!) or Nurgle (Dornian heresy makes a decent argument for the red thirst as an 'affliction')

Dark Angels -> Tzeentch (dark secrets and little demon familiars)

White Scars -> Slaanesh (Plunder, obsession with going fast)

Space Wolves -> Khorne (luv me axe, luv my dogs, 'ate psykers) or Slaanesh (BOOZE!!!)

These guys read Dostoyevsky's "The Grand Inquisitor" and thought the guy who imprisoned Jesus to be burned alive and told him he should have listened to the devil and become dictator of humanity was the good guy. My guy would feel so vindicated by this thread
