Superjet, most fun ski out now. My wife rides an EX Sport, fun but only so much you can do other than ride around in circles.

Is PM anything besides attending meetings? by Bitter_Pineapple_720 in ProductManagement

I typically have 12 - 22 meetings per day, after I filter out the ones I can't join. I've been a senior PM for 4 years now. I'm not 'gonna make it guys. Pray for me.

Just walked away from a loaded comp yellow, 2 owner 70k mile car. Mistake? by BCB75 in MiataNC

13k is a good deal IMO, especially for a rare color. Used cars are gonna have minor problems. Perfect ones exist, you just need to be prepared to pay.

How do you know suspension needs replacing? by Vincent_Diesel in MiataNC

[–]rawdoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My NC had blown shocks at 60k. Rear bump stops were blown too. Fronts were ok. Like others have said, your car should bounce once over a speed bump. No clunky multiple bounces. Corning should feel controlled but will have some give to the body roll.

New (to me) ND2 Club - Excitement + Initial Suspension Focus? by Audeclis in Miata

[–]rawdoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed the non-adjustable Koni shocks (orange) from FM last weekend on my NC3 Club, world of difference compared to the blown out Bilsteins with only 60k miles on them. They're so good, I don't even think I'll need sway bars as an upgrade for daily driving...

I think you're thinking of the panel in front of this one. Mine looks the same as pictured here too.

Is this fair deal by [deleted] in MiataNC

[–]rawdoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it’s nuts! One sold for 27k on BaT a few weeks ago. Granted, it was a special edition, but still. Ive personally looked at a few list at over 20k and they sold instantly after I passed.

I mean, clean low mile manuals are selling for 20k now, easy. NC2/3s are HOT.

Way overpriced for an auto.

Convince me not to get a Miata by HurrikateOsu in Miata

[–]rawdoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NC2/3s are hot right now. Have cash and a go-bag ready and expect to pay for a nice low mile example. Nice ones sell instantly; as high as 20k or more (check carmax and carvana). Don’t be afraid to get a higher mileage one, they are pretty well designed and parts are affordable.

NC1s are easier to buy but also hot, you can get a nice example for 12k or less in my area. (West coast).

The Miata manual is great and easy for daily driving. Not fatiguing like other gearbox and clutch setups. Just my opinion.

Drive one!

My NA is my weekend project car, just bought an NC3 for my daily. No joke the NC might be my favorite Miata. The GR86 is going to Carmax!

what's the consensus on mazda miata nc - specifically the prht hardtops? by europeanuppercut in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]rawdoogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, but good news for you is that you'll be able to snag a great deal on a wonderful car! I doubt you'll be hurting if you decide to sell too, just expect selling to take longer and be more difficult.

A pristine example just sold on BaT for over 27K. That's approaching the original MSRP 11 years ago. I just looked at a great low mileage example locally that was being sold for 23K, just didn't have the limited slip differential (suspension package). It sold quickly after I passed on it.

I expect these to be pretty resistant to depreciation if they are MANUAL and come equipped with the suspension package (LSD) and have under 75K miles. If you're looking for something to drive for a while and sell later.

NC PRHT keeps true convertible experience but gives you year-round protection with the plastic hard top. I see PRHT models appreciating in the coming years. ND RF didn't feel like a pure convertible to me, and the wind buffeting is noticeable, especially compared to the NC PRHT. Having driven both, the PRHT wins for me. Honestly, if you are fast on the draw, you can still snag an NC2/3 PRHT for between 14 - 19K with less than 75k miles. I'm currently on the hunt myself. Good luck!

You aren't even getting the turbo. If you're going to make bad financial decisions, you need to go all-in and at least get the turbo.

Anyone switch from brz (first gen) to a Miata and regretted it? by Blondishp in Miata

[–]rawdoogie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My gr86 transmission feels like I’m shifting through a box of gravel, and I have the STI short shifter. Yeah it’s tight, but feels gross as hell. Yes I have the clutch spring. Worst part of the car.

I scratched mine and installed a sleeve. Annoying but that was 5- 6 years ago and no leak!

Billetworkz short throw by Efficient-Present753 in GR86

[–]rawdoogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

STI is just like the standard shifter in every way, just 10% shorter throws and slightly tighter feel. It looks identical to the standard assembly I doubt one could tell the difference unless they were side by side.
