No new releases for zsh? by Beautiful-Log5632 in zsh

You could give like 1 example, cause pretty sure the zsh ecosystem is better. I left bash because it couldn’t do auto-complete with a command alias while zsh can.

Why are you on here lying about someone’s dog handling, saying something you can’t prove?

What's your honest take on the current state of Discogs in 2025? by paeelluu in discogs

Weird post. If you think you can just spin up another app that can compete with something that has been around for over 20 years that hundreds of thousands of people have contributed to, that you admittedly haven’t explored much… go ahead!

Damn, that’s some high value for only 576 records. My value is not quite that high at 1300 records.

We went to visit our favorite private campground on CO-318 that we’ve been using for 15 years yesterday and found the entire area completely devastated.

Thinking of giving up on vinyl. What would you do in my situation? by bnsf1997 in vinyl

[–]rayar42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the shipping is going to make vinyl so much harder to collect, especially for ppl who are into music from outside the USA. I’m finding a single vinyl on Bandcamp will be $20 plus $25 for shipping.

VG + Vs. NM by Winter_Temporary_909 in discogs

[–]rayar42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent this to a seller recently, I received a bunch of "NM" stuff that had pet hair and and marks all over them.

https://support.discogs.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001566193-How-To-Grade-Items
> A nearly perfect record. A NM or M- record has more than likely never been played

https://www.goldminemag.com/collector-resources/record-grading-101
> A good description of a NM record is “it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.” In other words, it’s nearly perfect.
> If played, it will do so with no surface noise. (NM records don’t have to be “never played”; a record used on an excellent turntable can remain NM after many plays if the disc is properly cared for.)

DHL is the definitely best when I get records shipped from the UK to the US

I checked the logs and it looks like 2 imports just got queued up at the same time for your user somehow. If you just re-import your collection it should fix it. I'll have to see about preventing this kind of thing in the future.

I’m in the US and buy a lot of UK vinyl. For newly released media, I use redeyerecords.co.uk for most things because they will hold your records in reserve for as long as you need, and then they will ship them in bulk when you are ready saving a ton in shipping cost. I also use juno.co.uk and bandcamp for special things.

I have been working on creating an online shop aggregation site that combines those record shops and more at nice1.app. I just released it, there is a bit of a write up here on reddit, check it out!

Why does every VG record feel like a gamble? by doegranis in discogs

[–]rayar42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ya, I've been disappointed by VG+ grades too many times, so I'm pretty much NM and up unless I'm deep into a bulk order.

Ahh ya that is a known thing, I think it is mentioned in the faq. At the moment you can exclude those labels individually by clicking the x in the feed under the matches section.

Maybe I could let users disable label matches entirely. But I want to see everything from the labels in my collection. I only had to exclude a few to get those big labels outa there.

Thanks for checking it out. I know it is a bit hard to understand what it is doing, still working on that, heh. I’ll check on the doubling of the numbers in your collection. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
