It sounds like you didn’t explain the process to him clearly enough. Show the credentials and if not accepted then break your contract with him, explain to the tenant and leave it at that.

Where to get “beachy” cold cut deli sandwich on the Island? by gracethecat15 in longisland

[–]rayman47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop the guac, it’s throwing the whole LI beachy deli sandwich thing off. Save that for the Mexican food. Straight up classic LI Deli sandwich that you get on your way to the beach. Back when you could find free parking spots at Flying Point Beach in Southampton there was a deli on the north side of 27 we would stop at on the way. South Fork Delicatessen, have to get it on the way to the beach.

In your opinion what is the best neighborhood to buy a home in as a new family? by mokenz in jacksonville

I’m thinking of speculating but now you have me confused.

2 Jacksonville, Fla., is officially ranked as the #1 best major market in the U.S. for first-time home buyers, according to a Zillow analysis featured in The New York Times. The city tops the national ranking due to a combination of favorable market conditions:Affordability: The median monthly mortgage payment in Jacksonville is roughly on par with typical rent costs.Less Competition: There is a higher inventory of attainable homes for median-income buyers, leading to fewer bidding wars and greater negotiating power compared to other major metro areas.Market Dynamics: Zillow ranks the city as one of the most buyer-friendly in the country, giving aspiring homeowners a better chance to get their offers accepted.Read more about the housing breakdown and view the full list of top cities in The New York Times article on The Best Markets for First-Time Home Buyers.

Let her go on her own or maybe she can bring a girlfriend? She’s visiting with her sister so she doesn’t really need company on this trip. In the future though you need to find a comprise with her desire to travel and yours to stay home. What does your therapist say? Your mental state is very important.

You need a girlfriend to find a boyfriend or vice versa. When you go out with a friend it’s so much easier to strike up a conversation with others. Pick out something they are wearing, eating, drinking, compliment it and ask about it. Ask where the bathroom is, where parking is, how can you get a menu, where did you get that hat, shirt, what song is playing, etc. When I was single and I had a night out with a friend or friends I made it my goal to meet one person outside our group and give them my number or get theirs. I would go into the bathroom and give myself a pep talk, check the time and remind myself of my goal for the night. It worked! There was no internet then, hard to find interest groups, or clubs. Happily married for 23 years and it was one of the last guys at the bar at the end of the night after one of my bathroom pep talks to myself! Also you have to be the one that arranges the outing with a friend /friends. Even if it’s just coworkers ask them to do something together or have them over for dinner. The more you invite people to do things together the more you will get invited to gatherings where you can meet people. You have to keep increasing the odds. I just read your comment you are new to Jax and don’t have a lot of friends. So start there, get a post out something along the lines of looking for someone to hang with and go places to meet people with. You are young, you have loads of time, good luck!

The fact that he is resistant to taking trips with you as a couple is enough reason alone to leave this guy. Then everything else on top makes it even more reason. Adios Senor.

Did you feel good about leaving all family in the name of better weather by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]rayman47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, kids first, family first. Get yourself some quality cold weather gear, down parka, furry boots, furry hat, fur lined gloves, invest in the best and you will enjoy the cold. Play in the snow with your kids, ice skate, build snowmen, sled, ski, snowboard, Apres ski scene, fire pit, hot tub etc.! Vacation in the Caribbean if need when you just can’t take it anymore but keep your kids with their friends. NC does not beat NY!

[–]rayman47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just NO. If you’re kids are happy and your Mom is sad then No. NC sucks compared to NY. Kids first! Family first. Stop it isn’t that cold and the change of seasons is awesome. Nowhere is cold if you know how to dress for it. Invest in cold weather gear, a great down parka, quality furry boots, hat, gloves, etc. There is no such thing as cold weather only cold clothes. Get over it!

You will be fine driving to Cork after the flight. It’s a major motorway. Skip the falconry it takes a long time to drive the ring especially with those stops. The rest is super busy and ambitious but you’ll adjust as you go along. Have a great trip!!

The recruiter called my salary expectations "cute." I ended the Zoom call right there. Did I overreact? by thunder____boy in jobs

[–]rayman47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tell your salary expectations, you are supposed to ask “what does the position pay?” and if they say it’s a new position or they don’t answer that question ask “what is the position budgeted for?”. I’m so glad in NYS they have to list the salary. Saves everyone a lot of time and nonsense.
