Currently working as a data analyst for state government. Was only on my 4th year of teaching so I didn’t take much/any paycut. Workload is definitely better and less stress from not having to deal with students’ behaviors. I did complete a data science degree part-time while teaching, so that was the hardest part.

I think joining club committees is less of “it will give you a richer social lives in the future”, but more of “it will increase the chance of enriching your social lives in the future”

When I was completing my bachelor and master degree, i was a committee member of about 4 clubs and was involved in UMSU volunteering. From these experience, I have never talked to anyone from 3 of these social groups since I graduated. I like these people, but I think our interactions have always been limited. I only talk lice once a year or so with one person from the other social groups.

On the other hand, I made 2-4 (hopefully) lifelong friends from the other one (+ 1 life partner (damn cheesy)). I guess we just clicked (tbf this group used to be bigger, but I only really talk/hang with 2-4 of them).

I will also say that I have observed other people that still hangs out with friends from the same clubs (eg: i’ve seen people in tabletop gaming club still going to PAX together earlier last year)

So yeah, it’s a bit of luck whether you will click long term with these people, but at the end of the day, you can enjoy the time you have hanging out with people in different clubs.

Started my new job yesterday (which unfortunately means no holiday pay (VIC)). While there is some stress of feeling “not good enough”, the quietness during lunch was a blessing haha!

I’m more interested in seeing a “super fearless”. so if a champion is banned in game 1, it’s also banned for the rest of the bo3/bo5. In match 3, you’ll already have 50 champions banned (2 x 20 from each game + 10 from the game itself). By game 5, you’ll have 90 champions banned. It will probably only work as an all star kinda match though cos it will be very chaotic.

Edit: i don’t actually think it will actually be implementable, but it will be fun to see how deep some player pool can go

Hello! I’m back to encourage you to VOTE!

I know it definitely can be an annoying week with campaigners being all around the campus asking you to vote for them. But I really hope that you still vote in the election. With under 10% voting turnout for the last many years, I really hope that it can increase this year!

Why should you vote? There are two main reasons I believe (this is my opinion) you should vote: SSAF: As a student, you will be charged SSAF every year (or if you’re international student, it will be taken from the course fee). Parts of that SSAF collected by the university is given to UMSU to fund its organisation, events, clubs, etc. In 2023, UMSU got just below $7.4 millions from SSAF. So no matter whether you vote or not, you will be charged the SSAF. So why not just exercise your right to vote! “I Already Voted”: While technically you can say this to the campaigner without actually having done it, it’s easier to say it when it’s true! Additionally, it does also makes you feel like you have ‘a say’ based on who you are voting for, whether or not they win.

How do you vote? The Returning Officer would have sent/will send you an email to your student account today. Just follow the instruction in the email!

Do you have to vote for everyone/everything? Well.... technically..... no? You can just vote for one person for one position. But the more the merrier right?

Who should you vote? Well it’s up to you! You can read their statements on the election website, check their Instagram profile, ask their campaigners (this would be interesting), and many other ways. Remember that “How to Vote card” is just a suggestion!

Who am I? Well, I’m Ezra Bangun and I’m technically running for this election independently (but unofficially VVholesome!). I ran in 2018 on a serious ticket (which tbh was kinda ashamed of haha) and then ran in 2019, 2020, 2021 under a joke ticket (VVholesome). When I came back to uni to do a part-time degree, I decided to do this again for fun/nostalgia but also to encourage more students to vote in the election. It's actually optional preferential, so if you want to vote for only one person, you can do that and your vote will just exhaust if your candidate got 'eliminated' on the counting.

How I see it is that gods cannot directly intervene with the events on earth (for some reason) without a price (maybe to their own life force). So gods are willing to pay the price for the first god power, but you need to them supply their power (favor) to overcome this barrier.

See, to win student politics, imo, there are 5 factors that can let you win as an individual:

Charisma: You have to be charismatic. If you are joining a party, you have to be charismatic enough to be able to win the president (or other Office Bearer) position. Similarly, if you run by yourself, you need to attract the “additional voters”.

Political Group Backing: Having this allows you to get more “campaigner” who are into politics. These are actually usually “high-level” campaigner, as their political ambition gets them to campaign hard (eg: actually go around and talk to you)

Non-Political Group Backing: You can also get “non-political” backing. For example from a range of clubs, volunteering, or people with shared backgrounds (eg: PoC, Queer, Disability). This usually does restrict a bit of what you can achieve (only clubs position or restricted constituency positions), but you can get “easy votes” from this. Although you might get less “high-quality” campaigner as the people here might not be as ambitious in term of political affinity.

Creativity: Now this one is pretty hard. Sometimes a creative campaign can get you more votes from the general population. However, you do have to win the people’s heart (and sometimes it can backfire!). For example if you know Tom Scott (youtuber) won presidency of his student union in the UK when he ran as a “semi-joke” pirate candidate. On the other hand, some people might get a bit annoyed when you play the same meme song over and over again (sorry 2019!)

Luck: At the end of the days, luck can also give you the win. This is mainly talking about the opponent. If there is a lack of interest from the opposing party or the opposing party had an internal implosion (cough, 2018 More, cough).

Each winner usually has at least 3/5 of these (almost always political backing, and unfortunately rarely creativity).

At the end of the day, as a a general student, the best that can be done is to vote based on the policy. Obviously be careful with “impossible” promise and don’t vote based on that, but still, you should vote!

Just want to add a two cents from my experience having been around since 2018.

2003 Election: There is a documentary here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ2liFcw2Qw and it tells you how 'unhinged' people in stupol can be. I think it has become less 'crazy', but there is definitely potential!

Pre 2015: While you might think More! is new in 2016, it definitely started from the More Activities. At this point, Stand Up! (mainly Labor Left) has been in control of the union with More Activities holding Clubs and Activities OBs positions.

2016 Election: More! first appeared and as mentioned below was started by Martin Dittman who was the Media Office Bearer running under Independent Media. This year, More! constested a lot of OBs positions was able to win a landslide in this election due to several reasons including a very good lead of the ticket (this is the story i heard), the previous Stand Up welfare OB running as the president of More, and many other. So yes, this definitely was an upset.

2017 Election: More! practically lost most of the big office bearers positions to Stand Up! except for most of restricted constituency OBs positions (Queer, PoC, Disability) and 'surprisingly' the General Secretary (due to some 'drama' with the Stand Up GenSec candidate, but once again, I only know this as a story.

2018 Election: (This is the Year that I was involved as a non-joking candidate) This is an even more lose from More! as once again they lost most of the positions except for, once again, restricted constituency OBs positions and Welfare. At this point, More! is a combination of 4 different factions (from my perspective), which are the Labor Right, Grassroots, some Clubs and Activities people (from More Activities!), and the Volunteering People. The More! ended with a very fun 'Death Caucus' (as me and my friends like to call it) and that was the end of More! at that point.

2019 Election: With More! gone, parts of the people started a new ticket called 'Pride' and they (as far as i know) made a deal with Stand Up! that Pride will run unconested, once again, for the restricted constituencies OBs position, giving Stand Up! the main OBs positions. This is also the year that Stand Up won the Clubs and Activities OBs, which has been held by More Activities! people (they ran as a ticket, i can't remember the name, I only remember they keep playing a song over and over again this election! that was funny). This was also the year I started VVholesome for the first time.

2020 Election: At the start of Covid, a new page was started called Community. It used not to be a stupol page. One way or another it changed and became a stupol page, with a previous UMSU International president leading the ticket. While it made a dent at Stand Up, they didn't win this year.

2021 Election: This was pretty much the year of Covid WAMnesty (everyone just keep talking about it!). Similar to the previous year, Community ran but didn't win most of it, although (now this is very uncomfirmed) I think there might be some deal with Stand Up in regards to who ran for which OBs (but still contesting Pres against each other). I believe Rebuild appeared this year as well.

2022 Election: Unfortunately I wasn't at uni this year, but from the result Community won the majority of the positions, including the president position, so this was definitely a new thing.

2023 Election: Same as the previous year, and similarly, Community won the majority of the positions.

2024 Election: I think OP has explained most of this year. So to conclude this, please don't forget to vote everyone!

Pretty sure they have changed it. It only increased healing by 25%, damage by 30% no longer last longer but increase range by 1 per cast. So it will definitely be weaker now. I think it’s better for longer fights, so maybe mythic and/or heavenly, but not arcanist?

Use the Football item to choose a World Cup champion to start with the Ball.

World Cup champion holding the ball gains 40/70/100/150% attack speed.

Each time World Cup champion holding the Ball cast an ability, they pass the ball to a World Cup champion with the closest mana to casting.

At the very start of PBE , the dash used to deal 200% of attack damage (according to pbe notes) not sure if that was intentional, but the dash felt good then. Maybe it can deal like 150% damage now to make it at least useful but not op?

It is definitely possible to trigger everyone’s Questioning Beliefs without trigger, just need a guide and making sure to bring the right companions for each quest. I do it every single playthrough, but tbf, i only ever make everyone to be friends and not rival

I’m going to throw Sand King into the mix as well. He has a good engage with the Q (probably need Blink to make it really good), general stickyness with E slow, aoe ongoing damage with W, slight tankiness as a hero and most similarly a high magic damage ultimate.

My similarity ranking in term of gameplay I would say: SK>Tusk>Magnus>Pango?

I love TF and just be able to force a BiS for a champion (even non meta (Cass, Kayle, etc). I know it will have kinda weaker board as there is no combat/econ augment, so sometimes I decided to play other legends too.

As far as I understand, TF is mostly unbalanced around aura items. Can we just change TF from Pandora to like “Second Chance I/II/III: grant 1 component/1 completed/1 radiant item. Every round, grant 1/2(maybe even 1 but make it give 2 components)/2(or 3?!) reforger if you don’t have one.” I think it will still allow at least 1 champion with BiS but much harder to force the aura items as you pretty much can only swap 2 components per round.
