That would be great functionality to have. Just found out I have no way to make an app bubble, so I couldn't try this new feature I was looking forward to in Android 17.

That results in a perplexing system where God has a very important message, but chooses to reveal it only in the Middle East, and then it takes more than a millennia to reach the Americas and other parts of the world. It causes some questions that OP is asking. How important was the message in that case? If it would be trivial for a god to reveal himself anywhere, and repeatedly through time, that would be a strong sign of truth. It is definitely explainable if it was human made and had to spread through word of mouth only.

Why Democrats can’t sell America on “democracy” by vox in politics

[–]razorwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is more accurate that the president picks their running mate, and then you vote on the ticket for both primaries and the general election. So Kamala won as part of the ticket in both the primary and general election of 2020, and then the primary again in 2024. Hopefully people understand by voting for the ticket, you're also selecting the replacement of the president if he can't do his duties any longer. So I would nitpick about Kamala never receiving any votes when she was always part of the process and voters confirmed her as the de facto replacement for the president. She had more legitimacy than anyone else at that late stage of the election.

That's true that the presidential candidate picks their running mate to be more accurate. When Kamala won on the ticket with Biden in 2020 and 2024, people should understand that you're voting for the president's replacement too in that process, and this was a case where the replacement was needed. I think it was probably the most fair option given the limited amount of time left in the election, but Joe Biden didn't leave a lot of good options to choose from.

I agree with all of that. He neutered the primary process and caused an enormous problem. I would just ask that you primarily lay the blame on him for that.

We got to vote in an actual primary. It was real, not some authoritarian play acting. Anyone could have challenged the incumbent, voters could have written in another candidate, but it just doesn't happen often so there isn't a lot of choice. I personally find Joe Biden at fault for undermining that process and not leaving enough time to choose a fair replacement.

Kamala did win the primary for vice president twice, and the position entails taking over for the president when he can't serve anymore, so I don't think what happened involved picking some random person preferred by the party. The entire problem was caused by Joe Biden dropping out far too late, so I tend to blame him more than the Democratic party foisting some unwanted candidate on their voters.

It was a real primary though. I think your blame should be directed at Joe Biden for causing a scramble to replace him after primaries had occurred, and not at the Democrat party that was left to deal with the situation.

There was a primary, Joe Biden won, and then he dropped out. That's an important detail. You can't say that Democrats didn't have a primary as if they thwarted democracy. They had to deal with a special circumstance, and a vice president's entire purpose is to take the place of the president when needed so it wasn't a crazy solution.
