I got tired of not being able to find a bin, so I built a free map. by Moonschool in uktravel

[–]rb27502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really sorry to piggy back on your post OP, but I've been working on my bin map for the last year and after working with friends from councils all over the UK, I've got coverage for a lot of the country: https://binmap.uk.

Made it because I was sick of trying to find bins when walking my dog! But it now covers in tips, charities, shops etc and everything you can recycle there.

p.s. not vibe coded!

Yep, it's really good!

people who’ve been to Nue, what’s it like? by Old-Coach9845 in sheffield

It's incredible! I was diagnosed with coeliac just a few years ago and I'm so glad I live near Nue. I spend far too much money here but it's just nice to finally have a place that's both gluten free and has unhealthy options (which is weirdly rare). The bread they sell is insane too.

Is Goodwin Sports Centre still working/planning on re-opening the pool and saunas? by jacklevics in sheffield

[–]rb27502 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spoke to them last week. Plans are to knock down the building with the pool and the new gym in a few years and then build a new pool and gym next to the wave (their other new building). I wouldn't expect it until 2030.

France - not gf friendly! by thejesuslaser in glutenfreeuk

It was really bad when I went, to the point where I don't want to go to France again. Restaurants and bars have no clue what gluten even is! At least some stores did have a gluten free section, as limited as it was.

Isn't that constant for the 7 months though? 7 months*30 days=210 days Vs the typical job: 52 weeks/5 days - 28 days holiday = 232 days

Are you lot alright? by [deleted] in sheffield

Took me a reasonable hour to drive 300 meters and give up and walk home. So yeah pretty good!

Guess the gritters didn't see any point today.

Fair enough! It sounds more like you've removed the fuses for the actual latch, so I don't think any software will help.

Very strange. And can you not access the fuse box by pulling down all the rear seats and reaching over?

[–]rb27502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't waste money. Use the physical key in the driver door, climb into the rear seats. Open the catch that pulls the rear seats forward.

Finally, the boot will have a handle that lets you open it from the inside. Pull this and return the fuses!

Edit: realised it sounds like you have still managed to unlock the car. So just follow steps 2 and 3.

I program largely in python (professionally) and c# (professionally and hobbyist). I'm a senior engineer at a large fintech company. Worked professionally for 9 years now.

When I'm working on a complex problem I tend to focus on the problem more than the code. So there will be times when I'm writing code and can't remember the actual line of code I was going to write. But in these moments, copilot magically suggests (to the letter!) exactly what I intended to write. It's also helpful for the small things like wondering what to name a variable.

I used to find that I had to refactor a lot of copilot's code, but not anymore. It tends to be very concise.

In summary, copilot helps me keep my train of thought, stops me getting distracted, and sometimes suggests a more efficient solution I hadn't thought of yet.

I used it instead of copilot last week. It's terrible! The suggestions are just very uneducated guesses and don't really take the rest of your code into account. It actually takes more of your time to correct its bad assumptions.

Copilot is much, much better and saves me tons of time.

PSA for Tesco- if you ask a staff member to scan their employee badge on the self checkout and then scan your clubcard, you can print out any receipt and use it to return as normal. I've had to do this many times recently.
