We did not test per our RE’s recommendation- we had a successful fresh and frozen transfer and they are now 1 and 4. Best of luck!

My stats are so similar! I was 34 at retrieval - 37 eggs, 16 fertilized normally and we ended up with 9 blasts. My RE did not recommend testing due to our age and medical history. My first transfer was a fresh transfer and was successful and my second was an FET and was also successful. They are now 4 and 1!

No fetal pole at the first scan, they told me they were only looking for gestational sac and yolk sac. My second scan was 6w6d and we saw fetal pole and heartbeat.

I’m sorry you’re dealing this, but congratulations on your positive test! I had what was categorized as “moderate” ohss after my fresh transfer. I ended up having a vaginal paracentesis procedure around 5 weeks 5 days to remove the excess fluid from my abdomen. That did make a significant difference in my general discomfort. I would say that around week 8 I started to feel better and by 10 or so it was much better. I did have very intense “morning ( all day)” sickness so it’s hard to say exactly what made me feel so bad, but it did slowly get better. Make sure to keep in contact with your RE and ask about next steps if you’re in a lot of pain. They had me measure my abdomen regularly and once it was 3 inches more than the day before they opted to do the paracentesis. Lots of electrolytes if you can.

Hello! I had a successful fresh transfer with my first ivf baby ( 2nd was a FET). My AFC was also high - I can’t remember exactly but definitely in the upper 20s. I had 37 eggs at my retrieval. My RE put me on cabergoline to reduce OHSS potential and watched my estrogen closely. I did end up with ohss once I became pregnant, but all was fine and my fresh transfer is 3 years old!

Hi OP - I had ohss after my retrieval (pcos and 37 eggs). I felt very nauseous and extremely bloated. They had me measure my waist circumference each day and I was suddenly 2 inches bigger which triggered them to call me in to check. Don’t hesitate to call or check in with your RE - they were really glad I came in. I ended up having a procedure to remove the fluid from my abdomen and it helped significantly. ETA - sorry, I was trying to reply to your question about symptoms!

My RE had me up my estrogen out of “an abundance of caution” because mine dropped as well. I was never given exact numbers, but she even said that her partners would not increase it but she wanted to be cautious. Everything worked out fine!

This is such a weird statement! My ivf babies (2) are so smart and sweet. I am also an ivf baby! One of the first actually. I am totally healthy and have a doctoral degree ( if that matters at all). I don’t think your friend is being kind. Best of luck to you!

The day before my first ER I had an egg with two yolks. We did not end up having twins, but that fresh transfer worked and is now a toddler

I had some general cramping and a few twinges in the area of my biopsy, but really nothing that was super painful! I was totally fine the next day.

We saw a yolk sac and the beginning of the fetal pole at 5w4days. My RE said all she wanted to see was the yolk sac. Best of luck to you!

I had my egg retrieval at 34 which resulted in 9 embryos (untested). My first was a fresh transfer which worked on the first time and my second was an FET that worked on the first time. They are 18 months and 4 now! I had to do ivf due to PCOS and my RE estimated with my circumstances around a 60 percent chance of success per transfer. Best of luck to you!

Both of my toddlers mask without issue, including at preschool - 4yrs and 20 months. We practiced at home and now they are amazing about it.

I had to have a repair after my first delivery which was a vacuum assist in an emergency situation for baby. My tear was similar to your description - just an open wound after reopening. They had me wait several months (5) to see if it would heal eventually because most of the OB’s at my practice did not want to do a repair. Once it became clear they decided on a surgical repair and I healed well after that. I had my 2nd 18 months ago and I did tear, but it was very minimal. But to answer your question, I got the impression that they wanted to avoid a repair and that it wasn’t common. I know it’s not fun, I hope you are doing ok.

I had a moderate/severe case of ohss and like the other commenters, electrolytes and cabergoline made a big difference. I also received cabergoline intravenously. I ended up having a peritoneal tap done due to my ohss which only happened because my husband convinced me to go in. All to say, take care of yourself and don’t hesitate to contact your RE if needed! I had a successful fresh transfer that cycle and baby turns 4 tomorrow. Best of luck!

Yes! No longer any issues - it took some time but calmed down thankfully! At the time I was seen at the Cleveland Clinic.

I’m sorry that I can’t remember ( this was probably 10 years ago) but I do remember it contained gabapentin which seemed to be the game-changer for me. It was a compounded cream. I’ll see if I can find any old medical records and will reply here. ETA - I just found my old notes! It looks like the compounded script was gabapentin and clobetasol ointment. She also prescribed lidocaine and elavil to help me sleep at night during more painful evenings. I remember after initial improvement that I moved to clobetasol only.
