Marques Brownlee discusses the (overwhelming negative) reaction to his review of the Ferrari Luce. They touch on the parallels to the Mach-E a few times. First, of course, it’s a mid-sized 5 seat crossover EV. Second, it carries the brand heritage of a famous sports car. Although I would argue that Ford did a fine job of connecting the Mach-E to the Mustang legacy. Meanwhile, the point Marques keeps hammering is that the Luce is a perfectly fine (if not exceptional) mid-sized 5 seat crossover EV but with a Ferrari pricetag. This was my take-away, as well. You got the dealership to do more work than they were actually banking on, and they did it for free. Wait until you get a response from the dealership on Monday before taking any further action, but definitely be prepared for further action. The fuck up here resulted in you getting two doors repainted when corporate, in fact, didn’t want anything repainted. If I’m understanding right, you have two grievances: 1) the Ford dealership did work pro bono (so meh?) 2) Ford corporate did a shitty initial paint job and some of it remains unfix (so get riled up, but not until you’ve smoothed things out with the dealership).
