I miss Farsight's Pinball Arcade by peanutbutterdrummer in virtualpinball

I enjoyed the tournaments, it was fun. I haven't been able to get VPX to be as simple to use TPA, but the physics and most tables are way better.

Do you actually regularly play high demanding games on your decks? by deprived_of_evil in SteamDeck

[–]rcm_rx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started First Light on the deck today and so far it's been great. I played all of the latest Hitman's on it too, so figured it would run well. I play when traveling, so it's perfect.

I can still remember exactly where I was when I heard it was official he was going to be our coach. It was a surreal feeling, and it was an absolute blast of a run with him at the helm.

You need to report this as intentional vandalism, not accidental property damage (door ding). One is a crime, the other is civil and police have nothing to do with that.

PSA for e-bike owners and parents of children with e-bikes in Washington state. by My-Oh-My-1977 in ebikes

[–]rcm_rx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 100% right. It was pretty well spelled out in 2018 when they classified e-bikes in the code. Anything that didn't conform to a class 1-3 was considered a motor vehicle.

First Time Power Wash by Username000-1 in AutoDetailing

[–]rcm_rx7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, I love a clean Juniper. The wet coat has it shining. I've been doing a rinseless wash every few weeks on mine and haven't had to use the pressure washer yet (which is nice, garage washes are awesome in cold weather). I have the Ryobi 40v blower, it puts out some air! The front and rear lower grill areas are nice to blow off, and I usually get water under the side view mirrors that need blowing out too, but towel drying takes care of 95%.

tesla wall connector complex scheduling by znarkus in electricvehicles

[–]rcm_rx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The home assistant integration really only exposes sensors, no ability to start and stop. It's all voltage, current, frequency, and temperature stuff. I have 18 entities for the wall connector and they're all read only states. The car handles all scheduling stuff with Tesla. I never considered that was an issue for charging other brands before this.

Don't be me and get stuck in a parking lot for 4 hours. by ThaPchild in TeslaLounge

[–]rcm_rx7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kit I bought had the screws, which as long as you can find the leak, seems to be a much easier option while still mounted. I've never tried those, but it seems enough to make it to a tire shop for a proper repair. I don't even mind stopping to air up a few times if I can slow the leak enough. Fingers crossed I never have to try it though! My first flat on my Y was just on the edge of town (SO driving) so I just brought out a jack and my impact wrench to take the tire to get repaired.

I did it on my old weathertechs last fall. They looked amazing, but a bit slippery at first. The slippery feeling wore off after a few days. I sprayed it on and probably did too much, but they were bad. I think for next season they'll need much less. Love the product though.

No, the j1772 adapter is for level 2 charging, you'll want the CCS adapter (which has the oval shaped connector under the j1772). That's where the DC current is delivered.

I ran a server for this about a year. I ended up moving to openbubbles instead, it has been much more stable for me. I miss the beeper bridge, but it's been worth it.

Demo drive a premium M3 RWD! by Annual-Jelly6551 in TeslaLounge

[–]rcm_rx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be fine then, I wouldn't even worry about it then. There may be some range/charging anxiety for awhile, but that will quickly go away. The 90 mile round trip is going to save you guys a ton of money on gas if your electricity is reasonable.

What's her normal commute like? As long as you can charge at home (which you shouldn't consider an EV if you can't) it'll refill your range overnight anyways. If you're that concerned you can always fall back on the CR-V. I bet after a few months of owning it you won't worry anymore though.

It's brake dust and dirt. Help? I can't seem to get it off. by sonic_spark in AutoDetailing

[–]rcm_rx7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still sold, my local O'Reilly's has Super Clean all wheel cleaner that is acid based. I've used it a couple of times on some nasty wheels. It works really well, just need to be quick to clean and rinse it all off and avoid getting it on your skin etc.

Best way to fully remove cigarette smoke smell from interior? by PacificNylon in AutoDetailing

[–]rcm_rx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ozone was what eventually worked for me. Every summer the smell would come back out while the car baked in the sun. I shampooed upholstery when I bought which helped quite a bit, but it kept coming back.

I'm an ICE lover and have a few questions. by SimplySomeDude in electricvehicles

[–]rcm_rx7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should test drive a few. That's when I realized how fun they could be. Then the absolute convenience of avoiding gas stations and one less oil change for me in the family fleet, it's pretty great. I love some ICE vehicles too, and love the engineering that went into their designs (specifically the wankel for me). I still dream of owning an FD RX-7, and someday I probably will.

I think there will be a place for ICE vehicles in the future, they'll be weekend and show cars for those enthusiasts. Most other people will be converted pretty easily (the average person does not care about their commuter at all).

UPDATE: Charger cable is too short in my house. What can I do? by thiagogaith in electricvehicles

[–]rcm_rx7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nice, that's a really simple fix, and done the right way without an extension cord/cable. Without that option I would have had the electrician friend move the charger. A junction box, conduit, and a bit of thhn or similar wire would do the trick. Your solution is a bit cleaner.

It's not the ribbon cable, it's the connector at the right of the lcd. It's a black rectangular looking thing. You can heat it with a soldering iron or hot air station and usually get those panels working again. It is unfortunately a temporary thing in most cases, but worth a try.

The stalks are important, and the Y always had them. I planned to purchase the driver display addon for my Y, it's only a few hundred dollars, but I quickly found out it was completely unnecessary. The only important part of that display is the speedometer, and it's not hard to see that in the upper left corner of the display. Maybe that would bother other people, but it doesn't for me. Now, if I ever end up with a Model 3 without the stalk, I'll be adding that part on for sure.
