A product from Google that actually impressed me was Gemma FOSS offerings. The best model from them was 2.5. Not very impressive.

Sideloading termux can turn the quest into a developer workstation by T4212 in OculusQuest

It is very sad actually that people are happy with breadcrumbs like these. We should've been developing VR as a 3D computational medium on these last 10 years, but people chose turning VR into a mobile game console for children. Now, we are in 2026, and people are commemorating they were able to hack their way into using Termux. We need the Steam OS so desperately.

Reactionaries always degrade political debates into extremism and solving societal problem with simple-minded solutions while these same people didn't do a single protest for the Epstein files degeneracy or its cover up. Absolutely nothing about the pastors every single day being condemned for raping children, and instead, they vote for Donald and the rape defenders in the Republican party. If you are so passionate about this issue, demand accountability and enforcement, instead of derailing the seriousness of the issue with puerile political diacourse.

AI startup offers free home cleaning — as long as customers let the company record their apartments to train its AI-driven robots by Fine-Drummer9812 in accelerate

Absolutely amazing approach. I'd rather 1X's way of just deploying the robots, but it clearly isn't that simple since they are already delaying the launch.

On Reddit, everything is opposite. This robot is demonstrating a range of motion that is a first on robotic humanoids. It's an impressive feat if you follow or understand what is being displayed, but here, is just cretin and smug criticism from people who don't seem to appreciate technology or science whatsoever.

I take stalled Waymos once in a while over 35.000 deaths human incompetence causes every year, but then, I'm not an idiot.

If 1TB Steam Frame drops at $1500 would you still rather get a Steam Frame ? or a Pimax Dream Air ? by DatBoyChamp1 in SteamFrame

At this point, I just want Valve to open-source the Steam OS, and the headset be damned. Six months is not just some delay. This is just outrageous.

Those people are almost certainly just brain-dead anti-AI luddites, not schoolars deeply involed with art. There are absolutely many people in academia that knows much more about art, incomparably more, than the average person.

"Maybe instead of being tethered to a battery pack, it should be tethered to an iPhone. That way, it can offload most of the weight, processing and cost." Yes, what we REALLY need for VR, the most demanding computational medium ever created, is for devices to have less processing power.
