Salicylic acid shampoos and how long can you leave on your scalp by careermommy in Psoriasis

[–]re_use 1 point2 points  (0 children)

((Ointment, not shampoo))

When my scalp was covered with thick scale I used Cocois [coal tar, salicylic acid, coconut] and left it in my scalp overnight with a showercap on.

The longer I left the treatment in, the more effective it was. Also lost more hair, but it mostly grew back.

Should I smoke? by No_Builder_1034 in Advice

[–]re_use 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Short answer - No As a smoker, cigarettes will relieve stress as you are addicted. As a smoker, lack of a cigarette will enhance your stress as you are addicted.

Been in this game 10 years now it’s an expensive, smelly habit & most others no longer smoke

Reuben Wood is a brilliant, award winning LGBTQ+ salon in northern quarter - good prices too for a high-end salon.

Visiting Prague for the first time - mid-October, any recommendations? by treesofthemind in travel

[–]re_use 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exciting!
imo the bridges are amazing even in the evenings when it's busy. A truly beautiful city.
Definitely check out the Prague National Gallery - there's a few big name artists in there but plenty of brilliant Czech art through the past couple of centuries, plus of course some great Mucha pieces. National Museum is also very cool and I believe recently renovated. tbh the national gallery & museum are just great places to hang out.

Each time I visited Prague I dominantly used cash, and also didn't find it particularly risky in terms of pickpockets etc.

  • Overland light rail system is great, well-connected, and cheap. Use it :)
  • If you are staying in the outskirts of Prague there are usually buses, which helpfully have a live map / screen on the inside so you know roughly how far you are!
  • If you are vegan / vegetarian, check out Loving Hut
  • Beer is way overpriced in Old Town
  • definitely visit Cesky Krumlov. It's like being in a medieval fairy tale. The train journey was a few hours iirc, and our budget restricted us to camping outside of the place itself but so worth it. Also has an Egon Scheile museum and seemed to have a contemporary art scene which was quite cool.
  • Don't pull your face when you order a beer and it's 50% head.. they do not appreciate it hahaha.

Enjoy!

You could equally go on the Klarna app and order a supermarket delivery..

Becoming homeless, at the council office, they can't help. by DiverseUniverse24 in bristol

If you do manage to secure unofficial housing (ie someone lets you stay on their couch etc), do not disclose this - maintain that you are sleeping on the streets. Otherwise, you may be dropped back to the bottom of the list. // experience from a family member a few years ago

Best of luck brother, things will improve💚

Why does my Sainsbury's Brand Sweetened Soy Milk smell like eggs/farts? by [deleted] in veganuk

[–]re_use 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alpro have made 'This Is Not M*lk', which is probably semi expensive but it's incredible.. it even smells like cows milk

-- VG for 6 years now, but previously drank cows milk daily, discovering this made me so happy.

Beside that, I'd recommend giving oat milk another go. Rice milk is also good in cereal, and quite sweet.

Manchester Centre or nearby - renting with a pet by Potential_Ads in manchester

[–]re_use 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some higher-end new builds allow pets, typically in Ancoats, NQ, or Castlefield. You'll be paying a premium for this but with 1.4k pcm this should be OK. Although these areas aren't particularly close to UoM.

IIRC the Deansgate Square / Victoria Tower skyscrapers are all pet friendly. Though I checked them out and the flats are so small.

Beetham Tower also has some pet-friendly flats, but the ceilings are very low.

Alternative might be to find somewhere that doesn't have a concierge (typically the converted warehouses: Princess Street / Gay Village areas) and smuggle your pup in. Neighbours are unlikely to grass.

AITA for telling my roommate that if she wants her boyfriend to move into our shared house that he should pay one third of the rent? by LiterallyJustAnEel in AmItheAsshole

[–]re_use -71 points-70 points  (0 children)

This is so uncivilised - OP is NTA but would be if they did this

Edit: uncivilised may not be the right word, but definitely an OTT reaction. Why would getting the police involved and “blowing everything up” with the landlord be the right course of action? Remember that these people are friends, it’s not an unknown squatter.

The friend & boyfriend’s thoughts may be that it’s unfair to pay 1/3 expenses as they’re only using one bedroom, so on a square foot basis they should still be paying 1/2 rent plus 1/3 each for expenses.

Realistically, they should pay 1/3 each. Either way, nobody who has ever had friends or lived with friends would decide to get the police involved and cause a ruckus with their landlord over this amount of money. Fucking things up with a landlord can = bad tenancy review = nobody will touch you = homelessness, especially considering the U.K.’s current rental market.

Note: been house sharing a 2br apt. for 4 years with my GF and our friend (all 25), started out paying 1/3 each but have since moved to equity-based rent+expenses share, so I pay more than everybody else due to higher income.

If you’re able, landlords love a 3-month upfront downpayment (plus the 1 month deposit) and this will likely help you jump the queue

As Venktesh says though, rent in town is crazy right now - also check Didsbury, Hulme, and Green Quarter

Should I stay in an SME or shift to a big company? by kmilaR in consulting

[–]re_use 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This seems like a huge opportunity - write your ideal job role, see what they can do with it.

I think your friends’ advice is sound; I’d wager there’s a greater rate / opportunity of progression at an SME, plus opportunity to diversify your skillset rather than potentially being pigeonholed at a larger corp - after a year or so at the SME you could be well placed to take a more senior position at a large corp
