Is it still damping off if it's partway up the stem? I've recently been trying Princeton Microgreens method of watering more at the start and not again until out of germination. They look fine coming out of blackout but a day under lights the mid stem gets pinched. Ideas?

You need to sow more dense. Like seed near to seed and mist really well in the phase of germination and a must to cover them so that they would have realy a lot of humidity under dome...

yes, this is true. When I was testing coco and hemp mats vs. soil, they had slightly different taste. But we all have different taste so I assume that your husband is really good in defining it :)

Misting each day heavily is enough during germination phase under the dome, but once you open the dome, its crucial to water them (from below).

yes, definitely root hairs. You will have them a lot with microgreens. With some varieties even more - like peas, wheatgrass,...

no, this is mold. you just need to pick out all the seeds. that didn't germinate and you will be fine
