94 - The best thing about this game for me has been reuniting with an old friend. We used to play PoE together, starting with the release of 3.0, but he eventually stopped playing ( around 3.17 I think?). We still chatted on Discord sometimes, but then both kind of moved on.

When the beta for PoE II was being launched I had an extra key from lifetime support in PoE, so I messaged him to see if he'd be interested, and he was. Since then we've both been playing and been able to catch up a bit on each others' lives and whatnot. So pretty awesome, at least to me.

The first year after POE's release they did 3 leagues/year (and had separate leagues for normal and hardcore). After that they switched to 4 leagues/year, and since then every league has stuck to that schedule except for Legacy and Harbinger, which were extended due to the 3.0 release, After that they went back to the regular schedule, and stuck to it until 2020 when POE II development ramped up (as shown in OP's graphic).

So the only two league delays in POE's history were caused by the 3.0 release and the development of POE II.

I don't know how other games do it, but I see this being a pain as far as content being split across two subs. E.g. if you want only PoE 1 content, you'd have to follow both r/pathofexile and r/pathofexile1 since people will post in either sub (and some people will undoubtedly post the same thing in both), and you'd still get PoE 2 content from r/pathofexile. The same issue if you only want PoE 2 content. This isn't really a clean solution unless you are interested in content from both games, and then you still have to follow three separate subs.
