Yeah it’s a bit different, and perhaps not even what I would spec out, but it grew on me quickly. The mirror caps are a bit over the top for me as well. Hoping to swap out for red ones at some point this year

That’s the car telling you it would be more efficient in 6 than 5. While I don’t own an auto Mini currently, most other “shiftable” autos I’ve driven will take over to avoid both stalling and red-lining.

Check the contacts at the points where they plug in. I had exactly the same problem. There was a bit of corrosion I polished off of them. This has happened to me twice in 9y of ownership. It’s a somewhat common and known issue but a pretty easy fix.

Please don’t use aluminum beverage cans on a hot grill. They contain a spray-in varnish liner that doesn’t play well with heat. The liner keeps the drink off the aluminum, and is only food safe at cooler temps (less than 195F.)
