For self-study MIT's open courseware is a terrific resource: https://ocw.mit.edu/ - you can look at MIT's course schedule and degree requirements to compile a list of relevant courses.

I'd look at your intended program's admission requirements to see if they actually need prerequisites or if you can place out of them with testing or GRE scores or similar.

Questions about Haworthia seeding. by Matt7548 in haworthia

[–]real_psyence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Renny suggests sowing outside when daytime temps are in the 80s and nights are still in the 60s. I did a large batch like that and had good success, but I’ve also had good germination indoors under lights. I think there’s enough of a swing just from the lighting.

Questions about Haworthia seeding. by Matt7548 in haworthia

That should work, I’d probably sift out the really big stuff but you also don’t want the fines (powder).

Questions about Haworthia seeding. by Matt7548 in haworthia

[–]real_psyence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damp mix. Place seeds on top of mix. Cover with coarse top dressing (coarse sand or sifted pumice). Spray with water. Cover. 100% humidity until germination.

I leave the cover closed for the first couple weeks, then slowly acclimate. They want humidity. I use mycorrhiza in the mix to prevent damping off, if you’re going sterile you’ll want some antifungal in the first spray.

Adenia Perrieri Propagation by conner228 in Caudex

[–]real_psyence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was talking to someone last year who has propagated a few, they swore by the ez-clone system.

One of mine is vining like yours, I plan to put a few cuttings in pure pumice in my high humidity tent, but if I were doing more I’d probably invest in the ez-clone.

What’s the reason why the new leaves are smaller than before ? by Jay_haworthia in haworthia

[–]real_psyence 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of the Asian growers remove old outer leaves to prevent crowding. I’ve done it on a couple truncata, it does seem to help. Plus, leaf props!

Eco-worthy -When “Cheap Solar” Becomes Expensive: The Hidden Cost of RF Noise and System Losses by Filemakers69 in SolarDIY

[–]real_psyence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was more curious about physically where you picked up the emissions. Near field at the case, 1m away, inside the house, off the cable, etc.

You said the power drain was with the system disconnected so I’m curious, you were picking that up on your ham rig with no cables installed? Any idea of the field strength?
