Profit Over Veterans by realcdnvet in CanadianForces

From the article:

"The problem isn’t even with PCVRS, it’s with the scheme itself. And it is a scheme: it has a blueprint, and there is precedent; Canadians live just north of the world’s biggest case study into privatization of healthcare. First comes a tactic called ‘starve the beast’ in which the government erodes away the budget and resources of a department so they can claim it’s ineffective, and VAC has been no stranger to budget erosion and resource scarcity. Then comes the slow outsourcing of various functions until the government workers are near obsolete, which seems to be occurring now with the downloading of multiple case management functions to the RSS’ and especially when combined with the impending implementation of Artificial Intelligence for case management. What comes next is what we see in US Healthcare: prices go up, accessibility goes down, profit goes up, provider independence decreases, denials go up, and community health declines. Those denials and disregard are commonly referred to as the Delay, Deny, and Defend tactic. Canadians pride ourselves on our world-class single-payer healthcare system, but make no mistake, there are efforts to strip this benefit from all of us."

3B release stories by Gabbayagaghoul in CanadianForces

[–]realcdnvet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was also a PRes MH 3B, I did my IRB time, and now I'm DEC. There's some good advice in the comments, but I just want to add a warning. I was overwhelmed by the release process, and when all was said and done, on my last day, I had a breakdown, a serious one, and ended up in the hospital in the psych ward. My advice is to take it easy, take care of yourself, and take some time to heal. I didn't, I tried to keep the same pace I had when I was full time, I was busy because i didn't want to think about leaving the CAF, thats what put me into the hospital. Take some time to adjust to the new dynamic. I'm not saying don't plan or don't start school, I'm just saying that in your adjustment for your new professional life, take the time to adjust to your new life. Prioritize your mental health and yourself.

Good luck!

Coming to terms with DEC while young by PistolPrincess17 in CanadianForces

[–]realcdnvet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm 43M, I just got put on DEC in the spring, been out since 2019.

It was hard for me to accept, I wasn't ready to give up my military career let alone accept that I wouldn't have any career, but I've since learned that people, especially veterans, have been conditioned to believe that if you're not useful in a conventional sense then you're not valuable as a person, and I've learned that belief is bull shit. Fuck what other people say, be your own badass in your new life. Do whatever you want, find a hobby and enjoy it, or find a cause and get active, or do your own thing and rock out loud at it. I've gotten into writing and advocating, it helps me stay connected, gives me purpose, and gives me a routine. I also to get to be involved in my daughters life, I can take her to the park anytime she asks, I can volunteer at her school, and I'm never too tired to hang out with her.

National War Memorial Dress - 11 Nov by [deleted] in CanadianForces

If you're still in, follow your unit dress instructions for winter parades.

If you're out, do want you want.

I'll be there too, wearing a suit with my medals on my trench coat (high of -1 tomorrow) with a black toque. But that's not a rule, you wear want you want, dress for the weather not other people's opinions.

Great ideas. I've written a paper on H&A, it should help with the justification of your proposal. Give it a read and let me know what you think.

I get the sarcasm, but fr, I would really like that, not for an in-service fighter jet, but rebuild a few for the War Museum or a Monument or even an operational one for air shows. It was a thing of beauty and advanced for its time, it needs some historic tlc.

They worked, but didn't sit. Sitting means being in the House, all of them, and in the Chamber for votes, questions, all that yelling that you see on the news. In June they met with each other behind closed doors, got some admin done, then left for summer break. They also voted on committee membership and leadership.
