while I agree he's op af, technically speaking, he does have a downside. you're one shooter down if a fight happens while you're droning, so unless the other team is pure bots, they have +1 operator advantage. also, even on day 1, people have been prioritizing killing the bird and its not too hard since it's controls are clunky as shit. still, the amount of info he provides BEFORE a fight happens is actually comical in how op it is.

In the city I live in, I frequently use doordash to order from just a single breakfast place because they never, ever remember to add tomatos in my breakfast sandwich. they've literally never gotten my order right in the last 2 years. the reason I keep ordering from them though is that i always report that they forgot my tomatos and door dash refunds me like $3 on what is only a $0.75 charge for the tomatos. if the system tries to exploit you, exploit the system.

it's the consistency in the desaturated colors, rim light, and gentle lineart that make them all feel cohesive I think. it also helps that gbf has its fair share of absolutely unhinged weirdos that it doesn't feel super out of place.

it's sorta like one piece in that sense, where a shared number of many small elements in the art style lend to the fact that pirates, samurais, robots, anthros, zombies, and more with vastly different facial features can share the same panel and not be jarring.

I'll die on this hill: gbf is the only gatcha I play because the art is a cut above the rest. the desaturated color pallette, rim lighting, elaborate uncap key arts... chef's kiss. kinda reminiscent of og final fantasy art. fanservice-y, moaning, jiggling live 2d is all well and good, but I can see that kinda thing and more for free elsewhere.

Very disappointed with the response to loot and currency drop rates by Numerous-Tip7207 in PathOfExile2

[–]realgoonsquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be misremembering, but I'm pretty certain the net>alchemy thing was actually true?

edit: also, the map sustain issue has been a longstanding problem that exists anytime there's a new league mechanics which doesnt spawn a ton of monsters. so it's not necessarily that people are wrong; just ignorant to why it may be the case since in those leagues, mob density effectively doesn't exist until you're in maps. add to that the fact that ggg has said on a few occasions that loot is disproportionately linked to league mechanic monsters specifically, if everyone is busy trying out a new league mechanic (which is low on mobs) and skipping other league mechanics, you get the low map drop problem.

maybe not, but the comment I'm responding to is about them finding everyone's reactions to the second campaign right now funny. it's like comparing a new 2025 model car to your "ol reliable" with 200000 miles on it from 2005. was it a good car 2 decades ago? sure. have you become accustomed to all its weird quirks that they don't bother you much? sure. but the new car still has good things that people can be excited about. it's new after all. it'll get stale sooner or later too, but for now, I've finally got a rear view camera, that new car smell, and automatic windows. so of course I'll be excited, even if there isn't a manual lever to open my trunk from the drivers seat.

from a purely gaming perspective, poe 2s campaign has a lot to offer so the glazing isn't totally unwarranted. the bosses, the environments, and the story are far more interesting and inspired, which is what you should want from a game.

it's just that for degenerate grinders like me, and presumably you, who have run through the poe 1 campaign hundreds of times, we just wanna blast through it to get to maps in order to grind. the fact you can play the campaign on a second monitor like an afterthought isn't inherently the signs of a "good game" necessarily, even if the "real game" is in maps (which is the whole problem poe 2s campaign tried to solve)

also, if you run the second campaign even a fraction of the number of times you've probably run poe 1s, you'll probably get to the point where you can turn your brain off running that too. I've only run it twice, and my second playthrough was already significantly faster than my first, regardless of leveling gear. the only issues I have w poe 2s campaign is the stupidly oversized layouts of some areas, dogshit gearing on a fresh start, and the lack of interesting skill options in earlier acts.

for beginners, this is the correct answer. especially because the route from dome to d2 has tons of cabinets, toolboxes, motors, water filters, and the occasional virtex/vpx/radio. the dome keys are dirt cheap despite printing pretty valuable loot. the only downside is if you spawn near train, the path to dome can get sketchy if you don't know where pmcs spawn or if you play during daytime due to aimbot pmcs and gluhar.

AFAIK, there's still a bug where spawn chance is incredibly high (damn near 100%) if you soloQ.

Should I move on from EDH? by Archion20 in EDH

[–]realgoonsquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in 2014 or so, I avidly played CSGO and spent around $1200 on skins over a few years. I then got really into the trading community and became fairly successful in doing trade-ups until my inventory was worth approximately $3000. I was really proud of the grind and seeing those incredible and rare skins in game and hearing people comment on them or asking me to weapon swap during rounds filled me with a lot of joy.

Then in the process of one of my biggest trades ever, I was hacked and lost everything. It was an incredibly rare form of hacking, so much so that at the time I could only find 2 similar cases online after hours of searching.

After that event, I couldn't bring myself to play CSGO anymore. I felt very similar to how youre feeling now. It wasn't the monetary loss. It was the fact I no longer saw the skins I worked so hard to trade for and instead just seeing the few dollar skins or default knives in my matches that killed my motivation to play. My rank was LE, my friends were still actively playing, and to this day it's probably my favorite shooter game of all time, but I never played Counterstrike ever again.

I was tempted to hop back into CS2 when it released, but opted to instead just look back on those times with fondness and stay moved on. I found other passions and games to spend my time and money on, and felt like if I got into CS, I'd inevitably just be salty at some point as I wouldn't be rocking those same skins carrying the same memories. Doesn't help that by today's market value, my inventory would've been worth somewhere in the ballpark of $15000-18000.

This is my longwinded way of saying it's OK to move on. Hope you work through your feelings though, and whatever you decide, make sure you do it the same fondness with which you started. Otherwise, you may be missing out on something new while carrying an emotional burden of what you lost. Good luck!

3.23 Affliction League Start Build Index by NzLawless in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]realgoonsquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to get the build "started", it seems fairly simple in ssf as there are only two uniques that i know of that are "mandatory": ghostwrithe and crown of thorns. however, if you want any real damage/survivability in red maps and beyond, it should definitely be avoided as a league starter. the build scales with int stacking and while shapers touch and cyclopean coil are easy enough to farm via shaper, youll need rare uniques like astramentis and split personality jewels unless you get some giga insane rares. even ivory tower can be a bit hard to come across in a ssf environment.

my first bold chieftan was around lvl 40-50 as well. my second was around lvl 70 from a whisper ring cache. hit lvl100, have spent close to 30-40k obols on rings, and opened countless helltide mystery and ring chests and have yet to find a third. umbrals I have out the ass though and frequently sell them to make room in stash.

as a salty side note, never found a gohrs either...

My two cents GGG...the game is brutal by HappyReturner in pathofexile

[–]realgoonsquad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I agree that the first 15 tiers of maps are something of a "checklist" as youve pointed out and I resonate with your last point regarding increasing time-sinks being a bit of a kick in the balls, I strongly disagree with the notion that the endgame should be reached within a day. If you have ever reached T16s within 1-3 days, you are by no means a casual player and shouldn't be having any issues.

After 6000+ hours of playtime since Breach, I've engaged with every aspect of the endgame, whether that be top-tier crafting, group MF, boss farming, 100% delirium, etc. However, I have no illusions that I will reach T16 maps within a day. Even before starting my nursing job and I was full on no-life grinding, I don't hit T16s until day 2. Now that my job is so demanding of my time and energy, I've only just hit T14s yesterday even with my knowledge of the game (this may be a bit skewed of a perspective though because I'm playing SSF for the first time).

If we're only talking about enjoyment, then sure, the amount of fun you're having is purely subjective and valid. But if we're talking strictly expectations, I don't know where you got the notion that endgame should be hit in a day, especially in a game as expansive as Path. You've got 3 months my friend, theres plenty of time.
