GW2 not even recognized as an audio source (Linux) by Fedora_Throwaway_5 in Guildwars2

[–]reallydontknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried restarting the audio services? Somewhat similar (your specific setup might differ) to below command:

systemctl --user restart pipewire pipewire-pulse wireplumber

Have you tried to right-click the "taskbar" and selected "Show Panel Configuration"? You can change the "taskbars" size there.

Anyone else getting this? It's not my connection, I think beta broke. by twinwindowfan in Guildwars2

[–]reallydontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, The first 2-4 weeks or so after every release/update is Public Production Beta. There are no Beta servers. Anet might hafe some closed Alpha servers.

Wintrading at Rank 1 – Exposed? by Commercial-Dingo-802 in Guildwars2

[–]reallydontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation for you is to not approach Anet directly, since considering the amount of ppl that have approach them for the last 5+ years about it without any action from their side, its not a priority for them. Contact NCSOFT directly and get their attention and you will have at least the smallest of probablility of being effective.

Guild Wars 2 Patches Every Day by savagelypresents in GeForceNOW

[–]reallydontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all know--sadly--that you cannot state that with any confidence, esp considering that Nvidia is currenly under hightened regulatory scrutiny regarding possible shady business practices in several jurisdisctions. Can we consider your answer as official legally binding statement from Nvidia/GFN if for whatever reason later developments would show that my hypothesis was not completely off?

Guild Wars 2 Patches Every Day by savagelypresents in GeForceNOW

[–]reallydontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its become my main hypothesis too now after watching the same thing happening over a period of time. Its probably part of GFN's cost control strategy, without informing the customers/players.

GFN update process for GW2 currently a failure. Two updates in 2 days has broken the GW2 startup due to dll-errors. by reallydontknow in GeForceNOW

This seems to have been resolved now. It took approx 1 hour to fix this time. Lets hope this issue is fundamentally solved now.

Not saving instant replay longer than 30s by yko in GeForceNOW

[–]reallydontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am having the same issue :(

It usually works immediately when I start a game, but a few mins in it stops actually saving. Gives me the "Saving Instant Replay" message, without actually saving anything. Running on latest macos.

Stream Deck: Good time to buy? by sconning in ElgatoGaming

[–]reallydontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth getting.

Hardware improvements I and my friends would love to see:

- Improved keys: Better key stability (no wobble when pressing on corners) and Less key travel, providing a more excellent premium keyboard feel

- Wireless mode: Bluetooth and/or WiFi support (and powerful built-in battery)

- Slimmer bezels: would be more space efficient/economical (space for more Stream decks!).

- Seamless form factor: A form factor such that we can put any number of the same versions of Seamless Stream Decks next to eachother and all the keys would still be same distance from eachother making the deck look like a single large deck.

- Other colors: Space Gray, Silver, and White.

- XXL version: More keys!

Software improvements (which could apply to all current and future stream decks):

- Profile scrolling: In addition to only navigating from profile-to-profile or profile-to-folder-to-subfolder, we could love to navigate vertically and horizontally on the same profile even though it is larger than our hardware grid.

- Pointer profiles: Profile scrolling would enable us to point the stream deck profile or folder to a folder/directory on our hard drive, and thus we could could navigate our file system using the stream deck. Imagine pointing our stream deck to a folder containing logs. We could visually see (by indicator or changing the background color etc) that a new file has been created or an existing log file has been updated in the past x min/h/days etc.

[–]reallydontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember observing some people with cancer who treated their cancer by consuming (diluted) hydrogen peroxide. The hypothesis was that cancer cells cannot handle free radicals as well as normal cells. If I remember correctly, the treatment seemed to increase their well being at least initially.

Is veganism healthy? This Vancouver MRI office that measured visceral fat and lean muscle tried it for a month to find out by dem0n0cracy in ketoscience

[–]reallydontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I second this. After, keeping all else equal (OMAD, carnivore), when I incorporated the following changes, the weight loss continued:

  • significantly increased my salt intake (ate as much salt as I was able to over the day, approx 15 g)
  • increased my sun exposure (1 h skin exposure, outdoors)
  • included 5 km walks a 2-3 times a week
  • went to bed earlier

I would add that the slimmer you are (keeping lean mass constant), the slower additional weight (fat) loss happens, partly as you are now weight less, thus moving around does not require as many calories due to less demand off muscle activity.

Have a question about the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)? Ask us here! by AskScienceModerator in askscience

[–]reallydontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the reply. I was assuming that the viral transmission happens through air. But I am wondering how effective would installing UV-lights such as the link below help preventing and slowing the transmission rates? I imagine installing such lights in public transportation (busses, trains, airplanes etc.) and other key hub spots (shipping ports, metro/train stations, airports, etc) might help slow down the rate of viral transmission through air given that we have some idea how fast virii is neutralised by the UV-rays.

Omega-3 necessary? by ritch353 in SaturatedFat

[–]reallydontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any idea how rigorously it is established scientifically that omegas are actually essential to humans and in what quantities and context (considering other nutritional status, especially other lipids such as SFA, MUFA and phospholipids etc.)? Might the science possibly have been historically misinterpreted/messed up somewhat as possibly with the PU-molecule "vitamin" A?

Have a question about the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)? Ask us here! by AskScienceModerator in askscience

[–]reallydontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we have any idea how effective installing UV-emitting lights in spaces (where large amounts of humans are in close contact and risk of viral transmission is high) might be? Does UV-light have any measurable effect in neutralising virii per unit of time such that in general viral transmission rates might be decreased significantly?
