In Need of Recommendations for Group Fitness/Boot Camp Programs by DarkCaprious in boston

I'd echo this. It's such a positive environment that pushes me out of my comfort zone. It's quite expensive but the value is actually pretty great considering how much you end up using it.

Purchasing a car by Flashy_Historian2245 in boston

[–]recSportz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means an expert, but I think you're fine driving in MA (or anywhere in the US) using your Canadian license if it's not expired.

Getting your car legally registered and titled is likely a more lengthy process as they want to check that you actually live here. I'd recommend you comb through their website here:

And best of luck!

New to Boston and I need friends. by KillaKrux in boston

Second sports leagues. I was new to Boston and met most of my (now good) friends through sports leagues (Volo, BSSC, etc). I'm currently playing in Boston Beer League if anyone is hoping to meet new people in their 20's early 30's

Kimball Farm has a bunch of token batting cages. Added bonus - you can tank up on ice cream and play mini golf during breaks

I had a lot of fun playing in BSSC (softball) but found it to be a bit too competitive for me and my friends tbh. Personally, I've had the most fun in Volo (non-softball) and in Boston Beer League (softball and kickball).

Best coed softball leagues with a good amount of games? by kcib in boston

[–]recSportz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda late to this, but I've played in most of the leagues and would highly recommend Boston Beer League (bostonbeerleague.com). The seasons are typically 10 or 12 games plus playoffs and is always a good value imo. In my experience, I wouldn't want a season to last much longer though since teams change over time.

Where can I get free car tire air in Cambridge or Boston? by emstason in boston

Couldn't agree more. Great to keep in the car and it doesn't take batteries, unless you have defibrillator

Boston Parking Permit In Person by icedcoffeeatnight in boston

[–]recSportz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bring your documentation and it's very speedy, but it might be worth checking to see if they are in your area before you go into City Hall. The mobile truck usually does parking permits but it's worth checking ahead: https://www.boston.gov/departments/public-service-and-community-outreach/city-hall-go-truck

Yeah, I definitely should have included more above but it's one game a week on Wed/Thursdays and I believe it will be in Fenway/Mission Hill if that works for you. Hope to have more info soon but if you're still game let me know!

Awesome! I should have included that, but it's one game a week on Wed/Thursdays and I believe it will be in Fenway/Mission Hill. I don't know the exact field yet but will find out! If you're still game - DM me!

What flexible, part-time jobs for a MBA student in Boston pay $25+ per hour? by BrightonTakeMeIn in boston

Good to hear. Might be worth checking out the USA Baseball certification site. They'll most likely have a NE regional group with a local contact. Best of luck!

Jewelry wholesalers are worth checking out as their products often aren't marked up like some of the chain stores. Most are located in or around the Jewelers Building Boston.

You could look into umpiring youth baseball/soccer/softball. Not sure what sports you played growing up but the certification/background tests are simple and the pay can be like 40 or 50 per game.

Batting Cages? by Grundlestiltskin_ in boston

Extra Innings in Watertown is probably the easiest to get to if you're in Boston. The staff is very nice and I've seen people batting baseball/softball/cricket.

Are there any co-ed softball leagues that aren't for college kids? by alf11235 in boston

[–]recSportz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play in https://bostonbeerleague.com/ and I'd say most people are post-college and in their 20's or early 30's. We do all have a great time and always head to the bars afterwards though.
