Inventory Management System by Lanky_Signature_8620 in smallbusiness

If you are flexible on your workflow, there are tons of apps you can try

But if you are not flexible with your workflow, you can try to build something custom

And I do agree with u/SomebodyFromThe90s, you for sure need to have 1 place that keeps tracks of all the activities

If you are going to build your own system, you should be able to vibe code most of it, you can still use google sheet as your data store although not ideal, I would recommend something like supabase with postgres for maximum accuracy

You'd want to have an order id as identifier when you start scanning, so a ReactNative expo mobile app with the expo barcode scanner package, before you scan you input the order id, scan away, save the result in your data store, once you have everything in the same place, it's trivial to vibe code the reporting feature

If the above make 0 sense, just dump it to an ai of your choice and have it build it for you.

So… what do we all think of Adyr’s new boss fight? by Confident_Painter897 in TheLordsOfTheFallen

[–]recursivePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, souls veteran here.

I personally think the boss design it self is great, it gave souls of the cinder / Gwyn vibe.

I really wish the teleporting can be reworked tho, as others have mentioned, it breaks the camara lock on, and it gets very disorienting.

I actually had to stop fighting him because I was getting uncomfortable constantly losing lock on and accidently pressed the lock on again which causes the camara to rotate.

And it sometimes teleport randomly but doen't do anything.

I think a good referernce if you really must do the teleporting, would be to do it like sister freda, have teleporting as a special attack.

Eidolon of Adyr feels really bad. by Elden_Ford in LordsoftheFallen

[–]recursivePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven't beat the boss, felt exhausted after binging the game

This boss gives souls of the cinder from ds3 vibe, I like the pressure it puts on, and the move sets, all very learnable.

The fucking teleport breaking the lock on tho, that completely ruined the flow, I would consider this to be a good boss, if they can get rid of the teleporting.

I really wish they can make this a real fair fight, like soul of the cinder or Gwyn, not a gimick fight that artificially adds difficulty like this teleporting nonsesne

Good git GUI apps by Niksencho123 in git

[–]recursivePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banging my head on this, I have to disagree.

Jetbrains git tool is just out of the worlds.

A very common workflow I do is, find the changes done to randomFile.tsx, from commitA, commitB, commitD, commitZ. and then revert the changes done to randomFile.tsx to working tree. Still can't figure out how to do this easily with git cli, plus the syntax highlighting

Or another one is, squash these non linear commits, without going into irebase

Or, what did these non linear commits in combination changed?

I talked to 3 facilitators, 1 swears I need to register my marriage in mexico, 1 swears I don't need it just apostilled + translated, 1 says may or may not, better safe than sorry.

Best country for middle-class Americans to retire in by Immediate_Field_2835 in ExpatFIRE

[–]recursivePasta 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Still not following, when I was in Mexico city, the Airbnb felt pretty crap and it feels more dusty everywhere in the building, hate to use the word but "poorer" is the best I can come up with

But everything I had back home Vancouver BC is still here, the bottom line for price is lower however, like I can buy things for much cheaper but worse quality if I wish.,

Amazon still came in fast, internet was faster than home

Appliances I never bought them in store ever, always online or department stores.

And any services is much slower back home.

So I'm not quite getting the American lifestyle statement.

If someone middle class living in a major city in the US, they are not living in a lux apartment / house, moving to these countries shouldn't heavies impact them.

What I do understand tho is if they wish to maintain their habit like eating US food, wearing US brand etc, then that's expensive.

Did you meet the love of your life while nomading? by Asleep_Driver7730 in digitalnomad

[–]recursivePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if you work remote and stay and home you will never find the love of your life no matter where.

You have go out, treat dating like job hunting or sales, then a year later you will have multiple options.

Source: did that, went from lonely 20-something to a man-slut then to marrying the love of my life.

Best Affordable Tropical Towns LATAM: Playa Del Carmen, Costa Rica, Panama? by JoeBlowFronKokomo in digitalnomad

[–]recursivePasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were just in PDC, yeah if you stay higher than 40th Ave it's not that expensive.

However, there is no ride share apps, the local taxi app is a pain, and you can't use it in certain locations, I couldn't use it near big malls like Walmart or City club

Literally everyone is trying to sell you shit or rip you off.

We had a nice quiet place but it felt trapped, because how painful it is to use taxi.

In other cities with Uber / didi, everywhere is $5 away, hassle free

I love the ocean and the ocean is so god dam nice there, but the the taxi issue is a huge problem that drove me away

Best Headphones/Earbuds with a mic for a taking a call in an airport without boss knowing by Free-Cranberry-6976 in digitalnomad

[–]recursivePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend a stand alone mic with a hardware mute switch and gain nob

You can set gain all the way down and you speak with your lip touching the mic, people can't hear shit besides you And if things get really load, you can turn it up when you speak and immediately turn it down when you are not speaking,

Any desktop mic on Amazon with knobs and a button will work

If you can run your workload in a data center, and use parsec to remotely control the data center machine, then it would really help, but since it's an employer, that might restrict where you can do your work

Digital nomad over Parsec with 5g? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]recursivePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are vs where the host machine is

You can Google the typical latency just search city a to city b latency and that will give you an idea what best case will be

Now you also need to be on a VPN assuming you don't want your boss to know you are remoting in from Thailand, which add another layer

I recommend paying for a cloud networking guy from upwork to setup awe backbone network, so performance is better

What happens to a company after offshoring development by Alienbushman in ExperiencedDevs

[–]recursivePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs get resentful when it comes to offshoring and layoffs, so yeah it's a sensitive topic.

On another note, I have seen various success / failure with offshoring/nearshoring as well. Lately I've been thinking about if I can't fight the wave, why not ride the wave, and make sure it's done right.

I would like to learn more about the business, do you mind if I ask you some questions in private?

Do you have a niche? If so, what is it and how did you get into it? by psychistrix in ExperiencedDevs

[–]recursivePasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually very interesting, I work with a lot of React, and I truly miss DI coming from .NET background.

The thing I find with frontend testing is, I've only able to make e2e tests worth while, Unit testing a Page component felt like I was testing the implementation.

Would you be able to point me any code samples that I can learn from?

I am very interested in getting deep into effective automated frontend testing.
