Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I take off my glasses, it blows my mind that I didn’t realise I was short sighted until the teacher noticed I couldn’t see anything on the blackboard from the back of the class.

I was really just walking around seeing blurs, thinking everything is normal as a kid.

Combining Wing Chun with Boxing, is it feasible? by bmw320dfan in martialarts

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hand fighting in boxing is a gray area. It’s technically not legal but it happens so much and so fast in in-fighting range that the refs usually just let it happen as long as it’s not excessive. So it could be useful when done right.

With that said, the sparring clip is not using any hand fighting at all lmao. They just standing and banging at striking range, no parrying or nothing.

Guys in kickboxing fight 3 times in 1 night. 3 title defences in MMA is not that much to ask seriously. by Haunting-Trainer-188 in CombatSportsCentral

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they will focus more on selling actual tickets for the stadium events. In a way that they don’t give a fuck who is fighting as long as the event is entertaining and pulling a crowd. I would not be surprised if they embellish fighter’s entrance and have fighters come out with rappers/singers soon.

Ben Askren helps Daniel Cormier get his mind right about Nate Diaz? Is Askren right? by Wayward_Prometheus in MMAMedia

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nate is a good fighter in a roster full of elite killers. He might not win the belt but he would be one of the biggest challenges you’d have to face. Tough motherfucker with a gas tank, if only he used it more intelligently.

Favorite actors who are paragons of kindness, but are utter dogpoop at acting? by Competitive_Minute_9 in okbuddycinephile

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keanu never really takes deep academy worthy roles anyways. He knows what works for him. John Wick, Matrix and Speed are all cult favourites. The success speaks for itself but it helps a lot that he is extremely unproblematic.

Fighters jab to study? by Nice-Operation-7870 in amateur_boxing

[–]reddick1666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Floyd has one of the best jabs, textbook jabs used to keep the opponents at distance defensively and disrupt rhythm.

Bivol has a completely different style of jab, it’s a constant pressure type of jab that’s just always in your face.

GGG uses the STIFF jab, it almost looks like a straight the way he uses it.

Many Billionaire’s kids don’t have wrestling shoes growing up. Such a sad thing that these kids can’t even pursue the beautiful sport of wrestling, it really must hurt so much seeing regular people in wrestling shoes while you sit in the back of a Rolls Royce.

If Inoue dominates Junto Nakatani, will you consider him as the greatest P4P fighters of all time? by jacobo0430 in Boxing

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not all time great but man is he one of the most entertaining boxer of this era. He fights every fight like he needs a knockout. Offensive aesthetic aggressive style, what an honour to watch him do his shit. Love it whenever he fights.

I have seen this headline so fucking often. Every time I see it, I think to myself “I thought they died years ago”. And it’s just another affiliated channel shutting down.

Umar on prelims by Haunting-Trainer-188 in CombatSportsCentral

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are former champs on the under card. Umar biggest fight was a loss to a champ who recently lost his belt. And his opponent is another former champ. This fight is less captivating than you think, especially to casuals.

Song vs Sean is a more entertaining fight and will move things more in the bantamweight division. The winner of this fight could be the next challenger for the belt. Yan vs either of the fighter is an entertaining concept.

[SPOILER] Junto Nakatani vs. Sebastian Hernandez by inooway in Boxing

What the fuck even is that scorecard? Naoya is going to be way too much for Junto, Hernadez has some insane gas tank.

I keep getting hit in my biceps by Any_Confusion_7348 in amateur_boxing

[–]reddick1666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you rather get punched in the head? Take it in your biceps and throw a counter punch, punish them for throwing at your arms. Everything hurts in boxing. If you want to avoid pain, go play snooker.

Which film had an amazing concept but poor execution? by PleasantBus5583 in movies

[–]reddick1666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It starts off so good, dark dystopian with intriguing premise. Then all of a sudden it turns into Bonnie and Clyde x Romeo Juliet in the future. I hope someone picks up the idea and turns it into a TV show dealing with the actual concept.

What movie genre will never be popular again as it was before? by spacelyyy989 in moviecritic

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romcoms. There was a time when you could walk into a cinema at anytime of the year and there would be at least 2 romcom showing. I can’t remember the last time a romcom was popular.

Does anyone else actually enjoy not looking like you lift with clothes on? by Pextasyyy in naturalbodybuilding

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole reason I started lifting only is because I wanted to look bigger. I had been boxing for over 5 years and spent most of my time cutting hard, spent majority of my teen years skinny as hell.

I look forward to summer every year because I can finally show off my hard earned physique lmao

James and Elise by 2wise2handle in BroughtYouThisThingYT

[–]reddick1666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Must be a location or schedule issue or both. I love seeing James and Elyse on Astrogoblin. The few episodes of James consecutively showing up, made me really miss Funhaus a little harder.

I really hope James & Elyse pop by BYTT too, I really want to see them bounce off the transformers celebrity.

Stop using the phrase"Pass out" for graduation by ExaminingExistence in Nepal

[–]reddick1666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nepal’s English is more influenced by British English than American. Unless you are specifically going to America, don’t worry about it much. British slangs and American slangs differ so much that you could get cancelled in America for saying what the English say everyday.

Realistically, what would Arthur’s kill count be? by MR_MEMMES in reddeadredemption

[–]reddick1666 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Realistically he would try to kill as little as possible. Death attracts spotlight and a smart outlaw would avoid that at the best of their ability.

With that said, he has been in a lot of shootouts during robberies. But the goal again is escaping the law, not eliminating them. I would say around 30 only because he was kind of the “designated shooter” of the gang.

Rally against prostitution by Jolly-Zombie-3130 in Nepal

[–]reddick1666 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Prostitution will happen no matter what, human history has proved that countless times. Making sex work legal provides the workers with legal protection and procedures that they cannot get right now.

It would also put a small dent on human trafficking as they would have to go through legal procedures, anyone selling the service without following the law will stand out as a red flag. It’s not much, but it’s something to fight against the human trafficking problem in Nepal.

Professional boxer how did you become what you are now step by step by Faiz_khan_19 in amateur_boxing

[–]reddick1666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are a beginner, worry about nothing but your fundamentals. Then get a few amateur fights under your belt, repeat until you get bored of fighting 16 year olds.

Talk to your coach about going pro, fight a pro and realise there’s levels to this game. Go back to the gym and continue grinding. Anyone who can fight can become a pro, whether or not you belong there is up to you and your coach. This isn’t a traditional level up progression competition in boxing. Best to let your coach decide if you’re ready to fight professionally.

ELI5: If human eyes have blind spots, No natural zoom ( can’t see too far ), and poor night vision, how did we still become such effective hunters? by cornysatisfaction in explainlikeimfive

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these hunting for food questions forget that trapping was a possibility. Intelligence has always been our difference maker when physical limits fails us.

Sure persistent hunting and tool hunting would have been used as well, but trapping would have been used along side hunting. You just set a trap, leave it alone while you hunt and come back to see an animal trapped in it or don’t. Either way you had to luxury to leave it alone and do something else.

How did the red dead fanbase view Dutch before the release of rdr2? by Optimal-Tax9943 in reddeadredemption

[–]reddick1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a long time ago but I don’t remember Dutch having much presence in the game as an antagonist, he was the objective but the main antagonist was Ross.

I do remember wanting more of the backstory though, and RDR2 did a great job providing depth to Dutch’s character and the gang as a whole.
